Oh damn, I am sorry. I hope this isn't a ding wave!
Looking at MyLSN...its begun.
Looking at LSN, it has begun. But to be frank, those are Auto dings. So I don't really feel that I survived or whatever.
Yeah...i was thinking the same thing. Both rejection waves kind of have been.
i just wish I could get my ding already. I'm in the "will probably be rejected but not necessarily an auto-ding" group and I feel like I'm gonna have to wait forever for them to just reject me.

I wonder if any of the dings today had JS1s or not

Of the handful posted to LSN so far, no one noted a JS1 in their profile. One noted from complete to reject without a UR.
Harvard doesn't really UR.

Sending good vibes for no more TLS dings today!!!
Absent any responses from members of the previous years' cohort, I think we'll have to wait and see. I certainly hope that I can't answer your question.

I hope so too! When was your interview? Mine was early January.
Let's up the ante and hope that neither of us can answer it. Late January!

My guess would be that they are bubble candidates who are given a chance to go above and beyond to impress in an interview. I'd think that its less that their interview went bad than it is that their interview wasn't spectacular. Like "we're waitlisting this person unless they give us a top 10 interview".

yup. i think like 90% of JS1-->Dings are borderline candidates in terms of numbers.

Any February interviewees get a JS2? Or did last weeks wave deal with 2016/ Jan 2017 JS1's?

Also interested in this. It sounded like it was mostly earlier interviewees. I interviewed on Feb 8, but no word yet.

I interviewed very very very early February. It may have just extended to JS1s who interviewed the first week of February.

When do we think the next JS2 wave is? My JS1 was late January and I feel a little dejected after that last wave of JS2s but my numbers are borderline so I'm assuming I'll probably have to wait until late March to hear.

I think Harvard probably has some generic algorithm with some rules that spits out who gets JS1s. Maybe something like:
Anyone with at least one number over a median, JS1 invite.
I can tell you that at this moment, this part of your hypothesis is inaccurate. Very reliable source.

As someone on the other side (GPA well above median, LSAT below), I can also confirm

Yeah, I worded my post pretty poorly, but I wasn't trying to imply that was actually one of the rules. Just an example of a type of rule that they might use. There might be 20-30 programmed rules that scan the LSAC CAS data, which spits out some index number. Then the admissions people use that to decide JS1 requests.
One rule might be "anyone with at least one number above median, JS1"
Rule 2: URM with XXX stats, JS1
Rule 3, Numbers X amount below median, but X years work experience, JS1
Rule 4: People with masters degrees and X numbers
etc, etc etc.
These are probably not the actual rules, but some of the logic Harvard might apply; I wouldn't be surprised if the JS1 process was highly automated and computerized.
I'm literally at the 25th percentile for both and got a JS1 (but no JS2...)
