Have you checked in with them at all since you guys talked?

If not, you could check in a couple weeks out with something like "Hi [Recommender], Thank you again for agreeing to write a letter for me, the date we talked about is coming up so I wanted to check in and see if there was anything else I could provide for you that would help you in writing your letter"

That way it's clear that you're kind of checking up on them, but it's not naggy.

Hmm good idea, thanks! This professor is usually on top of her game, so I'm surprised she didn't get it in by today (start of the semester), even though I asked for it on the 11th.

I'm in a similar boat. Everything from here on out is maximizing scholarship negotiation and possibly getting HYS (which probably won't happen).
