I didn't go to ASW, but generally at the school, you will see people in everything from suits to sweatpants and a hoodie. Unless they specifically tell you a certain mode of dress, I wouldn't worry too much.

Awesome thanks. I used to be good at this, but it's literally been 85 degrees this winter and I don't even know how to cold anymore.sublime wrote:CookieDough wrote:Los Angeles so yeah, not in love with low temps but I've lived on the east coast so I've done it before. Ha I thought someone might. If it helps we're having a "huge storm" right now. Which basically turned out to be one day of rain and a few days of drizzling. But it was 60 degrees so people were sad/freaking out at the puddles.sublime wrote:Just know that I hate you right now.CookieDough wrote:Awesome thanks. As a Californian transplanted on the East Coast, I can tell you that 40's -50's is freezing to a SoCal gal...sublime wrote:CookieDough wrote:Pathetic but serious question: wth should a girl from CA pack to wear and not freeze. Hopefully it will warm up at least a bit by this weekend. But just bring some jeans and a hoodie and you should be ok. I think it supposed to get up to like the 40's or 50's, but you probably should double check that.

I'm tired of the little spring-ish days popping up and making me so happy - only to have another ice/snow/sleet/freeze day crush all of my dreams of warm weather...

I'm just going to jump in here with some unsolicited and unrelated advice.
For you Californians who end up at Wash U: Just wait for summer, you're going to love it. We have this stuff called "humidity" in the midwest. I lived in 29 Palms, CA for four years and walked around happy as a clam on 115 degree days. Then I'd come back home for vacation and whine about 90 degrees here. Humidity sucks.
You're welcome!

Missouri Winters: One day the weather will be gorgeous and you will be frolicking in a meadow and the next day its -8 and there is 6 inches of snow. And then it is back to being nice for a couple of days...until it snows again.Ricky-Bobby wrote:I'm just going to jump in here with some unsolicited and unrelated advice.

I'd take Mass and St. Louis winters over Chicagoland winters any day. -50 degrees hurts.

Thanks for making me feel better about my winter by comparing them to worse ones. I suppose I can survive a couple more in St. Louis

St. Louis winters are obnoxious, though. I am one of the abnormal folks who love snow (I'm a redneck who hops into his truck and drives around doing donuts on back roads and driving through fields, what of it?), but if it's going to be cold there should be snow. My complaint is that it warms up for a day, all my snow melts, and then it dips back down to should-have-snow levels without the snow. It's BS and it upsets me.wittyhandle wrote:Thanks for making me feel better about my winter by comparing them to worse ones. I suppose I can survive a couple more in St. Louis

As a Bostonian I can honestly say that this winter in St. Louis was colder than Mass, seriously wtf. Apparently this is atypical though.Ditka747 wrote:I'd take Mass and St. Louis winters over Chicagoland winters any day. -50 degrees hurts.

Yeah, Boston has been bad this year (although honestly I can never really tell if the winter is actually bad, or if its just my NorCal winter-aversion flaring up)JustHawkin wrote:Boston has been relatively worse this year than past years.cusenation wrote:As a Bostonian I can honestly say that this winter in St. Louis was colder than Mass, seriously wtf. I hear ya. At this point, when you're balls deep in the single digits/negatives for 10 weeks in a row, it's hard to tell if it's really that bad or if you're complaining too much.bostonbrewer wrote:Yeah, Boston has been bad this year (although honestly I can never really tell if the winter is actually bad, or if its just my NorCal winter-aversion flaring up)JustHawkin wrote:Boston has been relatively worse this year than past years.cusenation wrote:As a Bostonian I can honestly say that this winter in St. Louis was colder than Mass, seriously wtf. Milwaukee...pretty much anywhere I could conceivably go to law school (besides UMN) would be a substantial improvement.Ditka747 wrote:I'd take Mass and St. Louis winters over Chicagoland winters any day. -50 degrees hurts.
