Welllll... guess that's another school I can put in "haHA, you thought you had a chance HERE?" pile.

Big hug? But if numbers were any indication, the people with good numbers would have been in by now. Obviously, there's something wrong with them.

It's getting really hard to hate on people with nice numbers when one of them (well, two including amidea) goes and gets all nice and stuff

I think Boalt could be making a tactical mistake here. All or most of the top students surely know about the tuition issues the UC system is having. Thus many of the top students (especially California residents) are already considering similarly ranked private schools. Furthermore, many of the students they are sending to FR have already been accepted to other top schools like CCNMVP. Come 4/1 when Boalt realizes that enrollment rate is down, it will be too late to get these students back. As a result, they could be looking at a drop in rankings next year.

3.9+ (T20 UG), 173 LSAT, Applied September, just got the FR email... also based on my other admissions, doesn't seem i made a glaring mistake on my apps.

Lol, I know, right? Although I find the majority here on TLS really nice. Well, at least nice enough that I can't hate on them. (Minus a few exceptions )

Does anybody know if FR emails come in waves, just one big glob, or entirely at the pleasure of the Dean? My last name starts with S so I might as well start an alphabet theory as to acceptances/FR/rejections (11/2 UR, 170/3.9+), despite any other evidence present.

so i just realized i have a unique experience that may be of some value. I applied last year to boalt and was sent to faculty review, waitlisted, placed in the second quartile of the waitlist, and ulitmately denied. the interesting thing about this though is that I applied late in the cycle last year and was sent the FR email on Feb 9, and i was told i would be reviewed starting Feb 27 with decision around Mar 20. for all the kids paying attention thats a full month later than the FRs just sent out. which makes me suspect that they do FRs in batches, at least 2. which also makes me wonder if the early apps this year are still being rewarded with possibly more spots available before the second round of FR. just a thought. all this anxiety is getting to me, do i even make sense any more? i feel like i sound like a conspiracy theorist....

I was marginally hopeful with the FR email after being dinged at UCLA today. However, based on the numbers of everyone on this thread, Berk should have saved me the agony and just rejected me.
