What's the consensus on the acceptance-->scholarship offer timeline? I'm wondering how soon I should start compulsively checking the mail for a scholarship letter.

Took me a week. Seems like they are generally a little bit swamped at the moment though.

Good to know - thanks so much! It took about a week from interview-->acceptance, so hopefully I'll hear back soon. I've gotten scholarship offers from schools via e-mail, phone call, and snail mail so far - is WUSTL mailing their offers?

As far as identifying us....Just find me I guess. I'll be the asian kid in chinos and a white Brooks polo. (Never had to pick an outfit this far in advance)

Pathetic but serious question: wth should a girl from CA pack to wear and not freeze. Assume I have no winter clothes and assume stores here do not sell winter clothes. TYIA.

Layers are your friend.

Cami/blouse under a cardigan under a jacket under a coat/another jacket (hopefully you have one). Scarf. Jeans/slacks + boots.

It's easier for guys (me) to pull this off as this sort of layering works so easily. But, I'm sure it can be done for the ladies as well.

Hopefully it will warm up at least a bit by this weekend. But just bring some jeans and a hoodie and you should be ok. I think it supposed to get up to like the 40's or 50's, but you probably should double check that.

Whether she's nor cal or so cal will be determinative, but so call folks think 40's is freezing. hoodie will not be sufficient.

i live in the midwest and my roommate is from ga and he is always bundled up like crazy when im in a fleece. anecdotal, but ive noticed this to be true of la people as well.

go to WUSTL bookstore immediately upon arrival and stock up on WUSTL winter gear

Los Angeles so yeah, not in love with low temps but I've lived on the east coast so I've done it before. Don't have a coat :/ Is it acceptable to be in jeans and a hoodie (or very layered sweater situation?) I feel like I should dress up a bit but they literally don't sell coats here. I lost weight so my east coast clothes are at goodwill now.
