Got a pretty lukewarm email today about scholarship money. Keeping my hopes up but definitely not feeling to good about it.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Could someone please let me know which email address to send my scholly appeal to? I have been getting "mail delivery failure" notifications when I send my email to their financial aid and admissions email accounts. Help greatly appreciated!

Same here. I responded directly to the email and immediately withdrew my application; they can't possibly expect us to be able to make an informed decision when they plan on getting back to us with FA info 4-5 days before most deadlines.Rlabo wrote:Got a pretty lukewarm email today about scholarship money. Status checker date updated... still just at complete. First time it has updated since it first went complete though, so hopefully that means someone in admissions is looking at my app! Hope for a decision soon.

What are thoughts on Curriculum A vs. Curriculum B/Section 3? Any insights in to who tends to do well in those classes- i.e abstract v. concrete thinkers, do certain career paths benefit more?

Man, the people at Admissions here are the best. They got back to me in like a second Re: scholarship money and have been the most straightforward people I've communicated with throughout this whole process.

Not the biggest fan of that blog post linked to above, because it makes Section 3 sound quite weird (weirder than it is, at least), but, as a former member of Section 3 --BNEGOP wrote:What are thoughts on Curriculum A vs. Curriculum B/Section 3? I think you get a broad range of people in that section, though, yes, more are liberal than conservative. In terms of who does well, it depends on the exam sometimes. It's possible that Bargain with Peller requires more theoretical/abstract thinking, while Legal Practice (LRW) and Legal Process (Civ Pro) are just like the regular sections. Democracy & Coercion probably will include typical concrete thinking, with some policy sprinkled in more on the exam in parts. It just depends on what the professor is looking for, and the professors for some of the classes change each year. Legal Justice is more theoretical/abstract, but your exam could be straightforward application of the doctrines you are taught. I think that anyone can do fine in that section, but just be aware, you do have more work than the other sections.
In terms of the long-term/short-term benefits, more people in Section 3 are public interest oriented, but plenty of us did perfectly fine in EIW (if not better than other sections, to be honest). Section 3 generally ends up with a higher Top 10 cut off than other sections, as well. I've never had an employer judge me about my courses, and most actually were more interested because it's something different.

Okay well I really can't wait after Tuesday. How can I consciously choose GULC over options that have extended offers without any word about possible merit aid?

Hey all, know this is a bit early. For the Public Interest Fellows Program, u have to apply over the summer before classes start. I read a flyer abt it, bt just dont understand the benefits of doing the program vs simply doing all of the public interest things at GT w/o being apart of the program. Feedback welcome/link provided below. THanks.
