I'll be moving August 7th, maybe we should have a TLS happy hour or something once everyone gets settled and before classes.
...if SMU decides to tell me I'm accepted I'll pack up the car, and make the 24 hour trip down the following day....
i hate uncertainty.

wait a year and try again. haha I just graduated in May, and had hoped to go straight to SMU.. But instead I'm waiting - i received job offers, which I accepted...But I would leave in a heartbeat if SMU takes me off the waiting list and gives me that phone call....

No..Which I regret.. But I was informed that they didn't want us to send anything. I did send an updated final transcript and another letter of rec earlier in the year.. I should have sent an LOCI even though they said not to.. dumb.

Hey I thought that I would let you know that you can sen in LOCIs if you want. I had been on the wait list since April and was accepted last week. I had sent in extra LOCIs and they accepted them, which I know they did because I went down to admissions to check and make sure. They read them and then add them to your file. Good luck!! I know how it feels to wait!

Also I think texasforever and I are going to get in a round of golf that week if anybody else is interested.

Hadn't decided yet. Maybe Tennison? I don't really know anything about Dallas courses.
Any suggestions?

I want to get out there, but I'm pretty rusty these days. I don't know any courses, but somewhere cheap would be good.
Tennison Glen looks pretty good. $17 greens +$13 cart, with $14 twilights. I wonder if any courses have student discounts like in Austin.
What do you guys shoot?

I played golf once. I suck, but its fun.
Although I'm slightly terrified to this day of playing golf. When I was younger, my parents were eating lunch at the clubhouse and I was out on the driving range shooting.
I was using my parent's Big Bertha driver (which was all titanium and such, and cost about $350). I took a whack at a ball and it was a beautiful drive...the ball went flying straight and true, followed by the club head. The damned head broke clean and went almost 50 yards.
Being about 12, $350 might as well have been $350,000. I immediately started figuring out how to get to Mexico. I thought I was dead.
Turns out that whole series was defective, but I'm still scarred by the crippling terror I felt watching that club head fly down the range.

that's nothin. not only have i flung a club about 50 yards on the driving range and had to make everyone stop hitting so i could run and fetch it, i have also shanked a ball dead right hitting the cap off my playing partner's head a good 20 feet straight up in the air. Luckily no damage was done except shock, but i am still terrified when hitting golf shots with ppl to my right.
i still play a bunch and am not terrible. i'll shoot in the 90s normally, but i know ill drop about 10 shots once i fix this pesky slice that's been plaguing me. just stand to the left or behind me, kthx.

What are people doing about parking passes? I got an email saying that the application has to be filled out no later than July 25th for us to pick it up on Aug. 1st. However, we can't fill out the application until we're enrolled in classes.... so, when do we get enrolled in classes? I know the law school does it for us since we all take the same courses anyways...

You won't enroll. You will
be enrolled by the school. I bet it happens before the end of next week. Schedules/sections were posted online on Thursday, July 30 last year.
