That's supposed to be finished by the time the class of 2013 matriculates, though.sumus romani wrote:No, the projects are years in the future. Having said that, when I visited NYU, Washington Square was under construction, which kind of ruined the atmosphere.

Last time I walked by there, it was still a bit construction-y. Couple of weeks ago, I think.BaiAilian2013 wrote:That's supposed to be finished by the time the class of 2013 matriculates, though.sumus romani wrote:No, the projects are years in the future. It was still under construction Saturday, but September 1 is still quite a ways off. Not that New York construction projects are necessarily timely -- see, e.g., the 12-year turnaround time on the WTC.

I am super concerned there will be a rejection in the mail when I get home. I survived yesterday, but I don't live in NYC so...

There are a few more complications with the WTC site than with fixing up Washington Square Park. I wouldn't be too concerned. Besides, the park was under construction while I was there for grad school and it didn't really affect my experience.clintonius wrote:It was still under construction Saturday, but September 1 is still quite a ways off. My guess is that you'll get in to the web site today or friday. Likely today!

I'm restraining myself from checking until later this afternoon. It's going to be difficult. I wonder what their administrative turnaround is at the office...from decision to mailing. Anybody have a good guess?starsong wrote:LOL i'm with you on that one!nax425 wrote:thank the lord, no. Re: NYU 2010
anybody get in yet?
Is it possible NYU just doesn't use a formal waitlist - they just never get back to you.
They have waitlisted precisely one person according to LSN.

Quick update... looking back at last year it looks like everybody who got waitlisted heard back in April. So I would assume the great probability is that anyone still waiting is headed for that fate.

I don't see why a collection of four thousand-foot buildings needs to be any more complicated than fresh sidewalks and benches. But yes, the construction doesn't stretch through the entire park, and there's still plenty of space to enjoy it. I felt very at home there Saturday and realized that I could be extremely happy attending NYU.

Re: NYU 2010
yeah, there are definitely many "formal" waitlistees. the reason we are all so hopeful(ish) here is because there were also a handful of students accepted outright at this time last year (March 20 or so) and even some in early April.wjnahill wrote:anybody get in yet?

'Hopeful(ish)' seems way too optimistic for this thread. Wasn't everyone just contemplating suicide by dessert yesterday?
