It is very common. There's nothing wrong with depositing one place and staying on the waitlist elsewhere.Rory19 wrote:However, I feel like it is very common for students to make a deposit, intend to enroll, get off of a waitlist and everything seems to be fine...I don't see how this would be any different.

Well technically I did not deposit, GULC waived my deposits in my scholarship. I just checked a box that said "I am please to accept Georgetown Law's scholarship and will be attending." That shouldn't make a difference though, right?

Right. According to ABA standards, Georgetown cannot force you to withdraw from any school that hasn't made an Accept/Reject decision yet.Rory19 wrote:Well technically I did not deposit, GULC waived my deposits in my scholarship. Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Hello. I am sorry if this has been answered already, but I am so confused and desperate right now.
I had the country of citizenship updated for some time but didn't receive any news from the school. So I tried to get access to the admitted students site. I remember people saying that they were able to get id and password but also remember seeing that some people could not really get access to the site even though they were able to get id and password. I was able to get the id and password, and when I put them in, I could go into the site. Right now, I can see the NET ID information and other things. I am thrilled that I was able to get access to the site but also confused and worried if it really means that I am accepted. It would be very nice if anyone could give me an answer. Thank you so much!!

Don't worry. I called them twice to make sure. This is allowed. I even phrased it explicitly. Lady on the phone told me TWICE that it was completely fine not to withdraw and this was not binding.Rory19 wrote:I would be happy to send you the form and the letter, it said nothing about withdrawing other offers. But yes, they would win because I would never take it to court.
However, I feel like it is very common for students to make a deposit, intend to enroll, get off of a waitlist and everything seems to be fine...I don't see how this would be any different.

You're probably in. There may have been an issue with the mail. You should call/email admissions and ask them if they've made a decision on your file. That's what I did and they told me a letter was in the mail (aka I was in.)parkys77 wrote:Hello. I am sorry if this has been answered already, but I am so confused and desperate right now.

Do you think they will still be using regular mail for acceptances at this late date?TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Spoke with admissions.. people who applied by March 1st should have a decision around April 15th; everyone else, late April (although it could be longer).

I've been following this page so I know what your talking about, but I meant more of in line with if they hadn't reached out to a candidate first. I never got any finalist emails or the such.Rory19 wrote:Can of worms.... scroll back a couple dozen pages.Rlabo wrote:Has any1 successfully negotiated with GULC?

I got them to bump me from $60k to $90K, but that was only after Chicago gave me $45k. Even then I had to go back and forth with Russo about how committed I was to G-town.Rlabo wrote:I've been following this page so I know what your talking about, but I meant more of in line with if they hadn't reached out to a candidate first.
