I haven't been posting much because I've somehow found a way to keep my mind off status checkers for most of break, but now that classes are about to start my TLS lurking is about to start back up. Just letting you know someone out there feels the same man, let's hope this is our week.

Because we’re wowed by flash drives and yellow portfolios and personalized notes, we are sending you a large envelope with a formal acceptance letter and lots of information about Michigan Law. But because we are wowed by YOU, we didn’t want to make you wait to find out.

Just got an email that they have review my application but not yet rendered a decision. I think this is some sort of a hold? Does Michigan do holds? Im above both 75ths so I'm kind of disappointed...wrote a why mich and applied for fall and summer start.

I just got the same thing, except im a splitter. Applied for summer or fall with why mich.

Do people suggest sending a LOCI at this point? I would just about give my arm for a Mich acceptance.

Sounds like yield protection? Would you seriously consider Mich over NYU? Maybe send a LOCI to let them know they are your first choice

I just got a .... Weird... Email from mich.

"Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan Law School.  Because you went to the effort of applying early in the admissions season, we are concerned that you may feel some disappointment at not having received your answer yet.  We understand the anxiety that the law school admissions procedure can cause, and are therefore writing to update you on the status of your file in an effort to alleviate at least some of that stress."

it goes on to talk about How they have a lot to review and ends with "Our goal is to have all decisions made by the end of April, but most applicants will hear well before that time.  Please be assured that receiving this email does not mean you will not get an answer until then!  It simply indicates that we recognize you have been waiting patiently, and we appreciate that."

Is this a soft deferral/waitlist?

What else can we write if we wrote a Why Mich? I don't want to send some BS lol.

Did anyone else receive an e-mail from Michigan updating the status of your application. The e-mail seems fairly weird to me and it sounds like a hold/deferral type e-mail even though they state that it is not.

Well above both 75ths as well and I got this same email. Classic YP. I'll soon be withdrawing my application.

I got the e-mail as well, I have no idea how it's supposed to be interpreted. Is it an RD hold? It basically says nothing.
