To whom it may concern:

In the months following my applications submission, it has become clear to me the University of Pennsylvanias School of Law is the ideal institution for continuing my legal education. Should the privilege of admission be extended I would attend. It Is my opininion this expressed sentiment would be binding, if not technically, in the same manner by which a Binding Early Decision is. Invariably, it is Penn's prerogative to accept, disregard or laugh at this statement. I simply wished to express the sentiment. Thank you for taking the time to evaluate my application.

Warm wishes, Jeff Nordlander
Yeah, assuming that this is not a flame (and the fact that people are thinking flame should be an indication to you that this is not a good letter), I'll offer some advice. First - don't send this letter. Second - rewrite, and try to strike a more natural tone. You want to be respectful, but not like curtsying-to-the-queen-of-England respectful. Write like you are talking to your boss. Third - get someone to proofread the new draft because as others have said, there were some typo's.

Whoops - just saw that you already sent it. I guess there's not much any of us can do then.

Yeah, y'know - Jeff Nordlander...
f*ck...my bad.

I love Jeff Nordlander.

Actually, when I let it mull for a bit, I think I can't stand Jeff Nordlander.
When Jeff Nordlander and I make sweet love and produce a super-child and that child becomes your merciless overlord, you will regret these words. But for now, let's all just cut Jeffy a break.

That is going to be one verbose f*cking overlord.

Alright fair enough. Jeff Nordlander, if that is your real name, I wish you the best of luck. I just really dislike the way that you form sentences.

Yeah, it's gonna suck being owned by this kid... he's gonna be all:

To whomever of my peons it may concern:

In the months following my rise to eminence, it has become clear to me that some of you have been distracted from your primary duties involved with being owned by me. This became astoundingly clear to me on a number of occasions when some of you disregarded and laughed at my statements. So I wished to express the following sentiment: IF YOU DO NOT RESUME YOUR CUSTOMARY GENUFLECTION AND ALL-OUT WORSHIP OF ME, I WILL EAT YOUR CHILDREN.

Warm Wishes, Your Beloved Leader, Kim Jong Un Nordlander

Damn, who said the kid's gonna be male? Also, the last name will probably be hyphenated with my own, thanks. Otherwise, pretty spot on. There may be a place for you in the new world order - no promises, though!

Also, FWIW, when you search "merciless overlord" on Google Images, this is the first result:

The break was given a while ago, now we're just trading useless banter in the genre of Nordlander-inspired Orwellian fantasy. :)

That's allowed, isn't it?

Congratulations! Seems like you wouldn't be remiss to call back to say "thank you." Northeastern left me an acceptance message and I called them back and left them a message. They didn't call me back but I wasn't exactly expecting them to.

I think most people initially thought it was a flame (I did, until I did a google search).

Either way, it's not a big deal - some grammatical issues and unusual phrasing aren't going to affect a decision. having spent some time in the personal statements sub-forum, my guess is that both are quite common.

Good point, and fair enough if people thought it was a flame. I agree completely that the letter probably won't do too much to affect a decision.

Agreed though - break given. It's not really so much about Jeff Nordlander now as it is the legend of his name and/or his progeny.
