Oh excellent....thank you!spacepenguin wrote:All the info you need is here:jpk5372 wrote:OK...this is going to sound like I'm really behind so I apologize in advance, but for Cornell were we supposed to apply for $$ or do they just give it out?
http://www.lawschool.cornell.edu/admiss ... or_aid.cfm
Summary:
1. Fill out FAFSA
2. Fill out NeedAccess
3. Complete Cornell Law School Financial Aid Sheet
4. Submit 2010 parent tax returns
5. Submit your 2010 tax returns
The deadline I believe is March 15 and I think that's all you need...I could be terribly mistaken though.
Even if all you want is Merit Aid, you're still required to fill all of this out I think.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
My status is as follows
Applied: 10-12-10
Application Complete: 11-10-10
Current Status: Deferred to regular applicant pool
Current Status Date: 12/14/10
My stats are 3.27/170. Been out of school since 2003. Own two companies so plenty of work experience on my resume. My GPA is pretty low. Is that why I'm at the bottom of the review list or are there other reasons? Not sure why its taking so long to be reviewed. Do I still have a shot this late in the game?

I'm pretty sure they haven't even looked at the deferred applicants again yet.hyr006 wrote:My status is as follows

Went from Processing 1/19 to Processing 3/10. This could take a little while.

Finally went complete 3/9. (Processing 1/11 to 3/2)
New to the thread so don't know if it's already been covered, but FWIW, this is what my email read:

My complete email (wednesday) said this too, even though I know they didn't get my deans cert until a couple of days ago. I wonder if they'll still give me a decision in early april though.cubbycake725 wrote:Finally went complete 3/9. (Processing 1/11 to 3/2)

Yeah -- I was deferred on 11/24/10. Haven't had any movement since.RicketyCricket wrote:I'm pretty sure they haven't even looked at the deferred applicants again yet.hyr006 wrote:My status is as follows

Cornell is really pissing me the fuck off. Where is my acceptance letter? Why is my status checker moving at the pace of a fucking snail on downers? Is now the right time to bombarding the OoA with LOR's? Ugh!

No, that's just it, I don't know if I'm in. I haven't received anything from Cornell, save a few emails about bullshit.neonx wrote:So, you're sure you're in?DukeCornell wrote:Cornell is really pissing me the fuck off. I applied in November and didn't hear back until this week. It takes quite a long time.

I applied on 9/20.
But I guess I don't count since I heard back with a deferral.

Did they require a dean's certificate? I'm complete, but I know I didn't send one in, and I don't remember seeing it on the app.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
This may be silly but... I filled out my FAFSA already. Do I still need to do the Cornell FInancial Aid Sheet and NeedAccess (I probably won't qualify for need-based aid)? I haven't heard anything since I was deferred 12/14.jpk5372 wrote:Oh excellent....thank you!spacepenguin wrote:All the info you need is here:jpk5372 wrote:OK...this is going to sound like I'm really behind so I apologize in advance, but for Cornell were we supposed to apply for $$ or do they just give it out?

^^Maybe that's what I should start doing- applying for shit as if I've already been accepted (lo). First thing Monday morning I'm calling to get my housing assignment, asking the FA office for more money, and speaking to the dean about class scheduling, clinics, and student orgs. (lol)

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Nevermind. Dean's cert only required if you answered yes to a question. But everyone who matriculates has to get one anyway I guess?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
