Wow, congrats to the today's Darrow's and the others who got $! That's gotta be an awesome feeling!
Now I'm wishing I had correctly answered a couple of more questions correctly about why bobo the monkey could have a therapy session on Monday mornings and Tuesday evenings, but not Wednesday and Saturday mornings so Michigan could throw me a bone here.

Congrats to the Darrow/Dean recipients! I'd be jealous, but right now I'll focus on being jealous of those who are have been admitted and then I'll be jealous of you bastards.
Now, if you'll excuse me, back to checking the ASW.

Deans scholarship for $30,000/yr. It's no darrow but I wasn't expecting a dime, so no complaints here!

It has to be $30k total, $10k/yr. They don't give out Dean's scholarships past $67k...JetstoRJC wrote:30000 a year or 30000 over three years?roxj wrote:Deans scholarship for $30,000/yr. It's no darrow but I wasn't expecting a dime, so no complaints here!

Re: michigan 2010 applicants
I know this may be a pathetic question to be asking considering I've applied and should know this kind of stuff...but how much are the scholarships that are being mentioned worth? I gather that Darrow is full ride? What about Dean's? And how difficult is it to obtain such a scholarship? Is there a limit to the number of Darrows/Dean's that they give out? A basic overview would suffice...I'm just curious. Thanks!

Re: michigan 2010 applicants
Darrows range from half to full tuition, and only a handful (~14, I think) are given out each year. Dean Scholarships range from I think as low as $10-$15k (total, so from $3-5k/yr), up to $67.5k ($22.5k/yr), which is effectively half tuition. I recall seeing amounts of $15k, $22.5k, and $30k, and they definitely give out $45k, $54k and $67k. I think the higher amounts are more common. from postings. I don't think there's any set limit on the number given out, but rather on the total scholarship money given out...bayareadunks wrote:I know this may be a pathetic question to be asking considering I've applied and should know this kind of stuff...but how much are the scholarships that are being mentioned worth? Re: michigan 2010 applicants
The website quotes approx 14 Darrows in each class, but we must keep in mind that many awarded Darrows end up matriculating to HYS. I imagine the award 30+ Darrows, if I had to guess. I swear there have been 10+ on TLS alone this year and it's only January...starstruck393 wrote:Darrows range from half to full tuition, and only a handful (~14, I think) are given out each year. Is it 14 matriculated? That seemed high (though I was surprised by home many were on TLS). At any rate, congrats. Re: michigan 2010 applicants
congrats on the scholarships everyone! i was just wondering, if i haven't received an admissions decision yet do i have a chance of getting any scholarship money (assuming i'm lucky enough to eventually get in haha) or is it usually only those admitted earlier in the cycle who receive scholarships? any info would be awesome - thanks guys!

With your numbers, I'd think that if you get in, you'll get money. The Dean's Scholarships seem to be fairly numbers based, and it seems like you would fit...urban_cdn wrote:congrats on the scholarships everyone! i was just wondering, if i haven't received an admissions decision yet do i have a chance of getting any scholarship money (assuming i'm lucky enough to eventually get in haha) or is it usually only those admitted earlier in the cycle who receive scholarships? any info would be awesome - thanks guys!

Thank you to everyone for clearing that up. I'm just trying to keep up with all the lingo on all these different topics...good luck to everyone and congratulations to everyone who has received an acceptance, Dean's, and Darrow!Tangerine Gleam wrote:The website quotes approx 14 Darrows in each class, but we must keep in mind that many awarded Darrows end up matriculating to HYS. I was also wondering...if I got my status checker email on January 13 when can I expect any word? They received my app on December 7...I guess I'm just anxious and desperate for good news. Thanks again, everyone.
