Thanks for all the info koala (really hoping you get Stanford; how can they say no to you anyway?!?).
Going through old threads is tough stuff.

How many more straight acceptances do we think are left?

I'm surprised we didn't see any action today, but its probably for the best anyway. Anyone who has read previous years' S threads know what's likely in store for us waiters

Not very many and, as Koala mentioned, most of those will probably be URMs/Non-Traditionals/people with very unique softs. There's still a chance but with ASW so soon, the class is likely mostly filled already.Scvaz7 wrote:How many more straight acceptances do we think are left?

Welp. Looks like my number is up. Decision Letter Sent.
Numbers, dates and whatnot: 167/3.8, K-JD. Submitted and complete 12/30. Absolutely not surprised, just thankful to have my cycle finally be over. Cornell or Northwestern will do just fine.
Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Sorry to hear about the DLSs. No idea how I haven't gotten mine yet considering my complete date and numbers. Just drop the axe already so I can decideeeee

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
Got my DLS as well. I haven't checked in days so I guess it could've come anytime in the last few days.
LSAT > 75th. GPA a bit below 25th. K-JD.
Complete 12/19.
100% expected ding so it doesn't hurt (though Stanford for anything has always been a fantasy).
Good luck to those left and trust me when I say Stanford > everything. For those of you not from California or the West Coast, it really cannot be understated just how incredible Stanford is, not only as an institution, but as a place to live. You get all that job placement and prestige of the East Coast heavyweights, plus you get to live in one of the nicest, most temperate areas in America.

Late in the cycle (April), calls may also start coming in on Saturdays - last year, I and 2 other TLSers got a call on Saturday, 4/6.

Ahhhh, at long last, the expected DLS. Got it late this afternoon. Submitted 12/23, complete 12/30. LSAT 171, GPA 3.53...hence the DLS!
Good luck to the rest still waiting!

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
thanks to the people who looked up some of SLS's previous admissions patterns. it seems to confirm the early April wrap up and the fairly slim prospects a run of the mill LSAT idiot savant should probably be expecting.
I guess since Stanford always seemed like a long shot, the fact that it is looking like more of a long shot today doesn't really get me down, as in, my viewpoint and self image hasn't really made a painful shift since the day I first applied. at the very least, my app got put in the maybe (but not really) pile for a solid five months instead of being immediately scoffed at...which is valuable for keeping the old inferiority complex at bay.

So either there are going to be a lot of decisions today or Stanford's April 1st decision deadline was their idea of an April Fool's joke. Hoping for the former.

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
Sorry all the DLS dings yesterday.
Crazy that there are decisions going out today; now I'll be glued to my phone. Honestly I've sort of written off Stanford insofar as evaluating my options goes, though if I get in I'll obviously be over the moon and I'd happily throw my Boston plans away (S is the only school I'm still waiting on). How are other people still waiting feeling about this? Are you holding out hope, making other plans, or what?
Early Nov submit, splitter, non-traditional with unusual (in a good way) softs.

Where did you see that they have an April 1 deadline? Based on THIS I thought it was the 30th.teampeeta wrote:So either there are going to be a lot of decisions today or Stanford's April 1st decision deadline was their idea of an April Fool's joke. Hoping for the former.

Yeah I would probably trust the website too. Someone called last week or the week before and was told that Stanford was making every effort to provide decisions by the 1st. I'm sure you'll see what I'm talking about if you scroll back through the thread. I'm at work so I can't.IrishJew wrote:Where did you see that they have an April 1 deadline? Ah, OK. Maybe the 1st is their target and the 30th is their outer bound. Similar to how LSAC has a posted date for scores but tries to release them a few days earlier.teampeeta wrote:Yeah I would probably trust the website too. Early Dec submit here. S has always been my #1 but when I got H without a peep from S I think I started subconsciously writing off S in my mind. But if I got in I would be absolutely thrilled, albeit disappointed that I wouldn't be able to make it for ASW.IrishJew wrote:Sorry all the DLS dings yesterday.
