What is the point of a hold? The letter says they'll be re-evaluating held applications (if you choose to accept the invitation) in early February. We're already in early Feb, so I'm guessing that was a mistake. But they could have just waited to render a decision, since it's not the same as WL (per the letter).

Any insight? Sorry if this has been asked before - so many pages to go through.
