Is it ordinary to get updates on Saturdays?

I was complete 1/7 (a Friday)
First UR 2/5 (a Saturday)
Second UR 2/19 (a Saturday).

I'm in for one more update, right? Anything I can infer from these dates apart from that?

Got my offer yesterday after two hours of freaking out (will tell the story later but right now I'm at the beach!) and it's DEFINITELY Chicago for me!

I'm kind of weird about debt - I think it's really personal to know how much I'll be taking out in loans - so I won't be sharing the exact amount of my scholarship here or via PM, just as a heads up. <3 y'all and congrats to the others who were as pleased as I was!!

Why's that? We don't know who you are in real life LOL. I hear you though. Congrats, have fun out there (as much as possible...I know it's your 1st choice)...sorry I can't be out there with you guys..I guess the East Coast was where I was destined to be all along.

Lol. That is somewhat ridiculous. 5k is just a throw in, I dont think thats enough to convince anyone of anything.

Im going to try to convince Chicago to give me more money. I mean, whats 30 more thousand amongst friends?

Good luck. You might want to wait until your h grant comes in, and you'll have a concrete number to point to from h, esp if it ends up being 90k or more. Can't imagine they wouldn't throw some more your way considering you're showing this much interest in attending over h at the right price.

Also second UR on 2/19, I think it happens sometimes at schools. Don't know if you can infer anything from it...for example, my UR date at UVA was updated on a Sunday 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from them. I would just infer that it means that you are probably in line for a decision whenever the next bunch of them come out.

I went complete on January 19, still no updates. However, other schools (e.g. Penn, Duke) that went complete about the same time have already issued decisions or at least started review. Went UCR at NYU on 02 February and Stanford 18 February. Is U of C really slow?

It took me a month from complete to go UR. And then a month from UR to a decision. Last batch might have been faster? Sit tight, I'm sure you'll do well.

I'm just nervous because U of C is my first choice, barring an upset at Stanford (above medians, but still...long shot). I'm ecstatic about getting Penn this late, but I'm not sure it will get me where I want to go...If I don't get in at U of C, I'm thinking about waiting a cycle and EDing next year.

I want to be near family but not in my home state (too small, rural), so I can't really prove a connection to Chicago, but I really want to work there.

Explaining to my non-college educated parents why I turned down Ivy League U Penn for a state school like Michigan is not something I want to have to do.

What do you guys think about an unsolicited "Why U of C" essay?

I wouldn't just yet. If I recall they were one of the most specific about not sending other things after you go complete. Also, they have seemed to be pretty good about staying in order. I went complete a week before you and went UR on 2/9, but there were probably a lot of people who applied around the same time as I did as I applied right after the December LSAT's came out so there was a bubble before you that they had to get through.

Haha, it seems like the only schools my parents know about are the Ivies too.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but they won't accept it. The instructions say after the app is submitted no more additional information will be accepted until a decision is made. Hopefully you won't get waitlisted, but that is one of the essays they recommend at that point.

QFT. I tried to submit an addendum about the large discrepancy in my LSAT scores and got shot down. Good news is they ended up accepting me without it!
