No. Michigan does the same thing with some of their applicant pool, and tons of people get in from that (I did with $). If it was a hold they would say hold! I think they are just slow and want to send something out to people who have been waiting for months!

I got the status checker mailing but not the actual email. I'm at median lsat and between 25-50 GPA

nvm just got it! so my email isn't completely faulty

I also just got mine. My guess is that they tried to blast out 1000+ emails and it flooded the server.

I applied for a scholarship and went hard, but never sent a specific "Why X" essay (and definitely could) - will it hurt to do so now?

Just got the email. Applied early January, UR1 since 1/20. Wondering if they sent these to everybody since (a) I have not been under review for that long and (b) NYU is a reach for me with my stats.

Personally, I don't see how that kind of addition to an application would really push them in a different direction. I don't have experience with this personally, but I always think it's best to be patient and respond when they ask you to.

i see - thanks for the solid input. I think at least the e-mail helps to know i'm not an auto-ding? maybe? sorta? kind of? hopefully?

Yeah this is how I feel. I don't think I should be auto-ding because of my stats (both between 50th and 75th), but I see nothing on my status checker.

If they don't send this email to people they're going to reject, shouldn't we have a rejection email by now
