IN!! Finally able to log in to ASW. Completely shocked. 170/3.7, deferred ED. And because, given my numbers and app history, some of this must have mattered: Very PI-focused app, 2 years WE, LGBT, Ivy undergrad.

Good luck to everyone still waiting, especially my fellow deferred EDs. Keep hope alive!

Edit: my date hasn't changed and I'm still under review! I have a feeling they're going through the "high-reasonable GPA" pile right now which I am definitely not in.

I actually have been thinking about not wanting to go lately... Like the whole lsat prep / ps / why x / lor rush brought me to like mid January. Now I'm not even sure if I liked the conquest or actually really want to go to law school next year =x

So after this wave of acceptances (congrats new admits), I couldnt help but wonder if I am getting passed over for multiple LSATs. I know that TLS says no one really averages, but is NYU an exception? I have a 3.9x GPA and LSAT high of 169, average closer to lower-mid 160's. Based off this year's LSN, I thought I had a good chance and getting in but havent heard anything since UR 1/9. Submit early January. Thanks for the help

My other thought is to go back to school and work on some mental health degree :/ that sort of sucks in terms of job prospects but I know I'd enjoy it

You're still early to hear back. Your numbers are "good" but not "great" to pull from the January pile.

I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but NYU definitely doesn't average. If they did, I would've had a "170" and with my gpa, I would've never heard back so fast. It seems like most of the most recent acceptances were fall people --I'm sure they'll go back and re-review the January submitters soon. Good luck!

I like it because I know to relax when a bunch of auto admits and reverse splitters get in, knowing they probably haven't even considered me yet.

I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but NYU definitely doesn't average. If they did, I would've had a "170" and with my gpa, I would've never heard back so fast. It seems like most of the most recent acceptances were fall people --I'm sure they'll go back and re-review the January submitters soon. Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Yea makes me feel a lot better about this. I think its the fact that some schools that I saw quick turnarounds in for others, I still havent heard anything from (UVA - no updates, Berkeley - no updates and missed out on FR)
