I went complete on 1/22 and I was accepted today. I honestly think that I moved so quickly because I sent an updated transcript that made them look at my file sooner than they might have otherwise. My numbers weren't the greatest for Cornell (168/3.65) and I only have decent/maybe above average softs, so don't worry too much!NDIrish2012 wrote:Wait, there have been people with movement who completed on 1/22?? Interview to in here. It was very low pressure. Mostly just asked me to elaborate on things in my resume, but nothing too pointed. Other than glancing back at your resume, I'd suggest noting a few specific things you like about the school and preparing a few intelligent questions to ask. Really nothing you wouldn't do anyway.moneybagsphd wrote:I just got an interview request. Congratulations on the acceptance, you must be pumped! Yeah, I'm not too worried about the wait. I'm just surprised to hear they've already accepted people from my batch, and I haven't updated once. Did you update at all? Or just go from complete on 1/22 to accepted today?? Thanks!

I used to want an update...now I feel unwanted and disenchanted with the entire idea of Ithaca.

So for the travel subsidy, it says that "This is a program intended for those applicants who otherwise would not be able to attend an Admitted Student Day at Cornell without help."
Most schools reimburse travel expenses regardless of financial situation, and while I can afford to travel without it, it certainly would be nice (flying in from NC with dad). Is getting a subsidy out of the question then?

Other 2 schools I've visited, there were a few people there with parents, these weren't ASWs though.EMZE wrote:Do people really take parents to ASW's?westinghouse60 wrote:So for the travel subsidy, it says that "This is a program intended for those applicants who otherwise would not be able to attend an Admitted Student Day at Cornell without help."

Edit: I'd like to have a parent with me for the pretty long trip/weekend, also not sure if I can rent a car by myself as I'm not 25. I guess ASW isn't the same as a visit though, and having a parent with me at the actual school sponsored ASW stuff is a bad idea.

Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
At the one's I've been to there were a couple of people with parents and the parents actually stayed for the events. I'd say there were more people with parents and the parents just walked around the campus or did something else. It's nbd tho I feel. I would have liked one of my parents there but scheduling is not our strong suit.EMZE wrote:Do people really take parents to ASW's?westinghouse60 wrote:So for the travel subsidy, it says that "This is a program intended for those applicants who otherwise would not be able to attend an Admitted Student Day at Cornell without help."

That's odd. Mine updated from 12/16 to 2/13 but no second update. I don't know why it would reset.sinpo wrote:You're going to get in very soon..!!! Congrats!Killingly wrote:Deferred EA applicant updated 02/09, 02/13, and 02/15.

I did send a LOCI but it was within a week or two after being deferred. Good luck to everyone still waiting!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
