Just a factual note: the Class of 2011 was 189, pre-transfers, and the Class of 2012 is 214, pre-transfers.Ranita wrote:

I think law schools should do away with the free agent/transfer process and just trade students. It would be fun to see YLS trade a few sub-par students for the all-stars of a TTT. Or perhaps we can trade professors as well.rabbit9198 wrote:pre-transfers
I suggest the following trade (pending ABA approval):
YLS receives:
Paul Weiler
Daniel Shaviro
NYU receives:
Mike K. Thompson
3 2L students chosen at random
Harvard receives:
Robert C. Post
An Articles Editor of the YLJ (chosen at random)

The man's a nice guy, but he just doesn't fit the Guido-Kronman-Koh line of charismatic caudillos. Too much of a softy. And plus, we could sure use a scholar of Weiler's ilk.clyde_barrow wrote:tossing dean post already, are we?Boba Fett wrote: I think law schools should do away with the free agent/transfer process and just trade students. ugh, sorry guys. the downside to YLS' twitter full candor.
at least there's waitlist potential, and I know of several people (possibly myself included) deferring.

Sorry about the non-calls, everyone.
It would have been great for some of you (all of you, ideally) to have had the opportunity to consider Yale among your choices. On the other hand, zabagabe is right that the waitlist offers renewed hope, so don't feel too demoralized.

Moreover, most everyone in this thread has almost an embarrassment of riches when it comes to law school options. 98% of law school prospects would kill to be making the decisions that most here are.CardinalRules wrote:On the other hand, zabagabe is right that the waitlist offers renewed hope, so don't feel too demoralized.

+1. There's a greater chance now that one or two or more of you might come to school with me.soonergirl wrote:Moreover, most everyone in this thread has almost an embarrassment of riches when it comes to law school options. 98% of law school prospects would kill to be making the decisions that most here are.CardinalRules wrote:On the other hand, zabagabe is right that the waitlist offers renewed hope, so don't feel too demoralized.
Edit: I just realized that such a thought is not really consolation to you. Sorry.

Seriously, though, CR: are you going to Stanford or Harvard?

Yeah, like I said earlier, I really liked Harvard, and I'm sure I'll enjoy Stanford. A part of me was hoping I wouldn't have to make the choice (however faintly). The two of them have some definite advantages over Yale for me.

I agree 100% with you, ConMan (ignore the fact that Harvard has been holding me for 4 months). Yale seems to be the best at everything I don't want to doConMan345 wrote:Yeah, like I said earlier, I really liked Harvard, and I'm sure I'll enjoy Stanford. Well, the glimmer of hope was nice while it lasted.
Now, I just hope that YLS hurries up and rejects me (instead of WL'ing me) so that I can commence vicious anti-Yale trolling.

Did you guys see the new USNWR rankings? The 25th LSAT went up a full point last year @ Y& H. I wouldn't be surprised if the benchmarks went up again this year.

Do you mean the rankings that showed Yale in decline relative to Harvard and Columbia? Wait...damn...I forgot that I was supposed to wait for the rejection before starting anti-Yale trolling.soonergirl wrote:Did you guys see the new USNWR rankings?
