Insult to injury: Playing Words With Friends and realizing I can play "ding" in multiple places even though I only have a G and a D. As in, GodDammit, I didn't get IN.
It's too amazingly perfect and hilarious for me to even be mad.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
congrats to new admits!
Got the ding today. Was just waiting for it. Above 75% LSAT above median GPA.
People get all "oh Berkeley is so holistic", but I think of them much like UVA, with the only difference being that UVA waitlists and Berk rejects. It's the same process. People call UVA YP city, they call Berk 'holistic.' Oooh well.

Nah, pretty sure Dean Tom put us on the buffered reject pile - where the applicants who are definite rejects go, but are systematically delayed notice of rejection.shnoop wrote:Did anybdy getting rejected or accepted today not go through either committee review. Rejected, above both 75's. This has made my law school selection process significantly more complicated.
Congratulations to the new admits.

What is the deadline to let Berkeley know your decision if you are admitted?

Not yet, but someone from the WL thread called the admissions office, who said that they will be sending out WL e-mails shortly, and that they will include your WL rank. The Stig wrote:any WL people get an email???

"The Committee will begin deliberation on your application on February 18. We anticipate a final decision will be reached on or around March 11. "
Ok, positive vibes starting tomorrow

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
the waitlist email said refereed to "the large number of applications received this year -- more than 7,200 for 260 places in the first-year class"
according to their profile online, last year they receive just over 8,300 applications. Could applications really have dropped by about 12%? Is this why the cycle has seemed generally slower at most schools?

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
just got the email...the 12% drop would seem comparable to the drop in LSAT takers, right?mistermister wrote:the waitlist email said refereed to "the large number of applications received this year -- more than 7,200 for 260 places in the first-year class"
