No! Each office makes its own decision, according to its own criteria!JSWright101 wrote:Though unrelated, an H wait list is a bad omen for S, right?
For what it's worth, Harvard rejected me without a JS1. I got the call from 203 last week.

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
I have a bleak prediction for tomorrow based on the info on LSN. I think we have seen all the acceptances before ASW.
Last year Stanford's ASW was on April 20th. SLS issued rejections on the 17th and 18th then the WL kicked off on the 19th and continued up to the end of the month. Also keep in mind that plane tickets, if booked this week for the friday ASW, will be unreasonably high and may even surpass the travel subsidy Stanford offers. So, it doesn't make sense for Faye to offer acceptances this close to ASW when it may in fact impose a financial burden on those admitted.
I think we will see the last few rejections before the WL this MTW and the WL will roll around on thursday and may continue till mid-april.
I really hope I'm wrong and we see some more acceptances tomorrow or at the very least the WL.
One thing is for sure, I'll be on the edge day and night this whole week.

So there was no acceptances sent out the week of in the past? I'm hoping this cycle is different since it seems that Stanford hasn't really looked at January applicants yet...Dr.Zer0 wrote:I have a bleak prediction for tomorrow based on the info on LSN. There were no reported LSN acceptances the 5 days leading up to ASW last year. But I'm with you, hopefully this year is different.hellomellow wrote:So there was no acceptances sent out the week of in the past? I'm with you guys. I'm inclined to think that adcoms don't spend nearly as much time as we do thinking about how this year's timeline compares to last year's, or what timing makes the most sense for students. They probably release admissions decisions When they have some ready and the dean has time.Dr.Zer0 wrote:There were no reported LSN acceptances the 5 days leading up to ASW last year. For each of the last 2 cycles, there were about 66 reported acceptances, while currently there have only been 54. So it appears that there are still more acceptances to go, whether they are before or after ASW. Hoping for some good news today

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
I try to stay really positive on these threads, but honestly this morning I'm just thinking to myself -- for those of us who applied in Sept/Oct, it's reallllyyyy going to suck when we get that DLS on our status checker without a call.
ETA: I don't mean that it doesn't suck for everyone, but that it is particularly disheartening to be waiting for news for so long only to be axed. I guess I should be better at managing my expectations, but it's hard not to maintain a little bit of hope when there's been no rejection yet.

Also rejected at Harvard, post JS1, and got into Stanford the next day. You just never know. So hang in there, and best of luck!

Can one of you fortunate accepted students tell us waiters how many are in the Stanford facebook group? I think they admit somewhere around 360 people, so the number might be enlightening as to whether they're basically done handing out offers.

Grazie. So maybe Faye still has a non-negligible number of calls to make? Here's hoping.stephenholder wrote:228 on 3/31teampeeta wrote:Can one of you fortunate accepted students tell us waiters how many are in the Stanford facebook group? But that doesn't include people still deciding who haven't yet joined, people hiding their law stuff from employers and people who don't have Facebook (if those exist!).stephenholder wrote:228 on 3/31teampeeta wrote:Can one of you fortunate accepted students tell us waiters how many are in the Stanford facebook group? But there might also be current students and adcoms. I know in some other groups that's the case anyway.orangec90 wrote:But that doesn't include people still deciding who haven't yet joined, people hiding their law stuff from employers and people who don't have Facebook (if those exist!).stephenholder wrote:228 on 3/31teampeeta wrote:Can one of you fortunate accepted students tell us waiters how many are in the Stanford facebook group? Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
The only way to use the FB group to determine the # of offers is to look at past years. There are people in there that won't end up attending; people in there that are currently students; people not in there yet because they haven't decided on Stanford officially; people not in there because no Facebook; etc. etc. etc.
ETA: And would need to compare to this point in past years - not the number in those groups now.
(tl;dr - Facebook group stats are useless)

Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
Now that we're getting closer to the end of the cycle, does a DLS still necessarily mean a rejection? Or could it be a wait list?
If wait list, does anyone know how long it takes after going DLS to receive the e-mail?

I think this is the only way Facebook stats can be helpful, is if compared to similar points in the cycle in previous years. But even then it's value is limited.wtrc wrote:The only way to use the FB group to determine the # of offers is to look at past years.
