My dwindling vacation days can vouch for this.
I cannot leave my job (have days off) until the end of April so that rules out most ASDs for me.
This has been an issue for me, too. It kind of sucks because due to religious observances, I'm using almost all of my vacation days at the end of march/early april and will be with my family for the week. NU's ASW is actually on the holiday so I wouldn't even be able to go either way! worst.

You must be in public accounting...I resent that prior life.

Like me

...though April is a good month in my industry/ line of service and I can make it to a couple ASDs/ASWs
Can't wait to quit!

Are ASWs/ASDs that big of a deal? I plan on visiting schools but I don't think I'm into the whole rah-rah school spirit aspect so I'm just going to go on my own.

I don't know if they're a big deal, but I really like meeting potential classmates and hearing about their backgrounds and the other schools they're considering.

They're fun, and you get to meet future classmates and figure out campus so you'll be a little less lost when you show up at Orientation.

Everyone is NOT tall. I'm a 5'8" chick and I feel ridiculous a lot of the time, especially with all the little tiny Asian girls.
School is in THE most expensive area of town. Loans will cover it, but if you want to pay less, live further north or west and your rent will drop significantly.

Med school mainly, although there are some business school and adult school stuff.

5'8" solidarity. I actually am Asian and tower over most of my family, which makes for some good pictures.
ETA irrelevant as I'm not a current NU student.

ah thanks, this probably isnt the best thread to ask this question but how do people with not so great WE fare in OCI? do firms noticeably prefer folks with consulting/investment banking/f500 WE?

No.
...
Well, not because of any of the factors mentioned. I can't give you a categorical guarantee.

People with great WE seem to do better than their numbers would indicate at OCI, but people with shitty WE don't seem to be at a disadvantage and don't do appreciably worse than their numbers would indicate. Of course it's not like law school apps where numbers are everything, but that's the best answer I can give to paint it in broad brush strokes. People with good WE will be helped, but those with bad WE won't be hurt.

yeah just got mine today as well, i like this swanky "leather" portfolio - presentation definitely beats the wimpy paper folders i've gotten from other schools. definitely saw the rent portion and was totally like

even more so when i found out that most law students live on their own in studios. its going to be a little weird for me after living with 55 other people in greek housing during undergrad.

Finally complete as of 2/7. Will I be at a disadvantage because of the late complete date? Also I searched this topic a bit, but if anyone can confirm: from what I gathered, the interview can't make your app, it can only break it. Mine went very well and will certainly be a plus, but who knows if it will be enough. I really, really want NU, but I don't expect it with my numbers. I suppose it is not impossible though!

You didn't do yourself any favors, but this cycle seems to be going slower than most so it might not make a big difference
