That's been my response to most of my cycle. As of right now, I'm headed to UMinn.

I assure you I have no C&F issues and was not crucified in a LoR, either.

If I've got May summer start at Michigan (which I could definitely end up doing), what the hell should I do? Would they give me a firm decision by late April if I pushed hard or really hold me til May?

Guessing you wouldn't have a decision by late April...someone posted above that CLS first starts making cuts off the wait-list in May.

This cycle's applicants must not stink so badly as everyone is making it seem for Columbia to be sitting pretty and reserving all these high numbers...

Held as well. Was expecting a rejection with sub 25% GPA and sub median LSAT. So I am going to put it in the yay category.

Also held. This makes me think the rest of my app is on the weak side.

I mean, you know your app better than we do, but if I was you I might write a new PS and try again next year. Cause that makes no sense.

Is it possible CLS is looking to decrease it's class size? Most of these holds are pretty clear admits. Maybe they're just moving more slowly this year and want to give you guys a heads up that they haven't made a decision yet, a la Harvard?

I'm shocked twinkle. So sorry to hear that. Don't worry though, there's still hope...it really is a crazy cycle. Are you K-JD?

oldschool123 wrote: That's kind of my problem though :? It's hard for me to make an argument that Columbia is the best fit for my interests..they're not the strongest in Environmental Law. If admitted I would still attend over UVA, again just because it's Columbia, but there's no real elegant way to put that in a LOCI.

Then again, not like it matters at this point. The #'s in today's hold group are just depressing for a 171/3.5x hold to look at!
Sammmeeee... I feel out of place with my 170/3.67.... They must realllly love my WE

What's the difference between Held and Reserve? Does the hold email specify when you will hear back? I was deferred from ED to RD, and the letter specifically stated that my app won't be reviewed again until April.

Congrats to all the people held who were expecting WL or rejection, and sorry to all the people who got held with crazy good numbers. I'm still holding onto my theory that with apps down this much, even CLS is worried about YP, so they (and a lot of the top schools) will use the hold more this year to weed out those with zero interest and figure out how to maintain medians without decreasing class sizes too much. I think they're starting to realize they can't do both, and so they need more time to figure out the best options. Sucks, but I think there's still a ton of hope for you guys!

There was a PDF attachment that specifically says the app is "still under active consideration." Take what you can from that. :|

Held means they still have to make a decision by the initial deadline, and that decision can still be admit, reject, or WL. Reserve means you're officially on the WL now
