Do you think they would count as URMs? And what about the Pennsylvania Dutch? or the Mennonites? Is it kind of like the Hispanic, but not-URM Hispanic distinction for them?crumpetsandtea wrote:Damn them!!! Growing up amish?? Well, 4480 people applied last year...JustE wrote:What percentage of the applicant pool do you guys think TLS represents? 10? 20? Less? More?
Just posters. Lurkers don't count.

I really have no idea how many TLSers would have applied. Only 28 have NU listed in their TLS stats, but what percentage of TLSers actually fill that out?JustE wrote:So you're guessing...rinkrat19 wrote:Well, 4480 people applied last year...JustE wrote:What percentage of the applicant pool do you guys think TLS represents? 10? 20? Yeah, I'd be surprised if TLS posters represented more than 5% of the applicant pool. Makes you wonder...who are those weirdos in the other 95%?rinkrat19 wrote:I really have no idea how many TLSers would have applied. If you put a gun to my head, I'd guess 100 TLSers applied to NU, but that's a total WAG. That would be 2.2% (assuming the same number of applicants). If the number of applicants goes down like LSAC and some other schools are reporting, then maybe closer to 3%.
Idk, but that's a hell of a lot of Amish...Samara wrote:Yeah, I'd be surprised if TLS posters represented more than 5% of the applicant pool. Makes you wonder...who are those weirdos in the other 95%?
I'd love to see the 25/median/75 stats for applicant pools. There've gotta be some Special Snowflakes applying to the T14 with a 2.0/155 because someone told them that being secretary of the pre-law club and candystriping at the hospital would make them auto-admit at Columbia.Samara wrote:rinkrat19 wrote:Yeah, I'd be surprised if TLS posters represented more than 5% of the applicant pool. Haha, this was me last year. I don't even know HOW I got through the admissions process other than randomly stumbling through. Lord knows how I made it into Columbia.rinkrat19 wrote:I'd love to see the 25/median/75 stats for applicant pools. I also wonder if many people are actually well-informed BEFORE discovering TLS. (Lord knows I wasn't.) Maybe people who've had a friend/sibling go through the application process recently.
I was a straight up idiot planning on applying to New England Law before TLS. Looking back, I just don't know how I managed to be such a halfwit.rinkrat19 wrote:I'd love to see the 25/median/75 stats for applicant pools. haha love it...I almost did this, too
Speaking for myself, I was horrendously uninformed before TLS. I have a friend who is currently a 1L and she turned me on to TLS. Granted, I wasn't considering law school all that seriously before TLS, but judging by the many coworkers I have had who were prospective, current or newly graduated law students, most people are pretty uninformed.rinkrat19 wrote:I'd love to see the 25/median/75 stats for applicant pools. I'm sure that was it right there. Even scarier is I was fully prepared to turn them down for a full ride at Chicago-Kent. My how TLS has saved my life.JustE wrote:I'm sure that did it.fingerscrossedxx wrote:Haha, this was me last year. I was praying I'd get into Iowa or Indiana... Yeah, I want to practice in GA, but hell they were in the 20s... I would have been screwed.
You might have at least ended up at a T1 school. I was fully expecting Chicago-Kent and IU-I as realistic options. (IU-I would have actually been okay for what I wanted to do with a JD at the time.)crumpetsandtea wrote:I was going to apply to only california schools with a 2.8/168. LOLOLOLOL.
