I wouldn't worry about it too much... holistic means different things to different schools - did you write an extended PS?glitched wrote:LolllScarryBakhtin wrote:Rejected. A holistic rejection.
That's why this kind of sucks. It really makes me believe my cycle is officially over without 3 of my decisions.

"pray for mojo" takes me back. amid the waiting anxiety that quote really made me happy. thank you.TurtlesAllTheWayDown wrote:Pray for mojo. Good luck to all those in the great state of panic. Why can't this be the 1950's so we could all drink and smoke at work?

Ya. And it doesn't help that I'm not having a great cycle. Granted, I didn't really apply to any safe options. But I mean I wrote 4 full size eleven font pages and had them thrown right back at me.src42 wrote:Yeah, with Berkeley it's like, hey, we just don't like you as a person.ScarryBakhtin wrote:Rejected. Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
First ding of the cycle by email. CR1. Below 25th GPA, above 75th LSAT. Sent a LOCI a couple days after being sent to CR. I wasn't expecting much with my GPA, but CR got my hopes up just to send them crashing down.

Dinged. Not surprised given my lackluster GPA (was actually pleased I made it through to CR1). Also, one of the nicest rejection letters I've ever seen.

Congrats excellence!! I'm happy for you!! And congrats to everyone else tooExcellence = a Habit wrote:Woah. I just checked my status checker due to all the status checker dings, but mine said this:
Current Status: A decision has been reached

Decision Status: Admitted!

I guess that's pretty clear. Woohoo! Anyone else have this?
I'm sorry for all who didn't get in today

I got rejected but all is well. This cycle has been so weird and unexpected. Getting into schools I thought I had no shot at and getting rejected/wl-d by schools I thought I had decent shots at. Definitely more than a numbers game

Anyone else in CR2 check their status to make sure they hadn't changed their mind?
Sorry for the WLs and dings... It's brutal in here.

Aw, thanks. I always had a crush on Berkeley but wasn't really thinking of it as an actual possibility given my splitter-ness.Excellence = a Habit wrote:Grumblessgtgrumbles wrote:First ding of the cycle by email. As opposed to an earlier poster, my cycle has played out predictably: I slipped into one of CCN, got one of the ubiquitous Michigan scholarships, and was dinged at Boalt. Now, to decide between NYU and Michigan...stay in NYC, or try out college town life? Awesome LRAP, or solid scholarship? Decisions, decisions.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
hah.. as I work on my nerdy CAD drawings (whilst pressing f5 on these forums) I came up with a lame joke:
The internet forum troll asks for another person's stats in the A/S/L format
The arrogant womanizer asks for a woman's stats in the bust/waist/hips format,
But the engineer asks for his client's stats in L/W/H format.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
actually wrote a 1.5 pg PS. short for most schools but it just would've made less sense to extend it cause I'd have nothing substantial to say without digressing from the main story. lol i'm going to try not to blame it on that though - but it might just comfort me tonight. AHHHH! I'm going to visit up there in a month. haha i'm going to walk up to tom (he's no longer dean tom to me anymore) and ask him whatsupppppp. The Stig wrote:I wouldn't worry about it too much... holistic means different things to different schools - did you write an extended PS?glitched wrote:LolllScarryBakhtin wrote:Rejected.
