I wish these scholarships that will obviously be passed up could go to other people when those initially offered finally withdraw. It's such a bummer that just nobody gets them.

Is this true? They won't do another round? Or maybe it is like the Darrow where they give out 40 with the hope that 12-15 people will accept?

Im mis-quoted here, but my understanding has always been they have a certain amount of money to spend- they intentionally offer more than they want to give, so if people turn it down they don't offer it to someone else. That said, if too many people turn it down, I'm sure they'd pass the money on to someone else..

Of course correct me if you actually KNOW this, because this is just a guess

Pretty sure they want to end up with 20 per year, no more, no less, though not sure how they'll achieve that.

I would think michigan has a set number that they aim for every year as well? I know gwu does this with their big scholarship (105K + housing, not the ED one). Since this is the first year of the Ruby they might not have the kinks worked out, but I imagine they assume X% will take Ruby offers and then offer accordingly.

Maybe they will offer in rounds like Darrows. Who knows. Total speculation.

ah, this makes sense. I've asked so many times on the boards, and no one ever answers me. I started to just assume, lol. If they need to make a quota, they can send it my way, no questions asked.

I have a feeling that either there are more rounds or they are ahead of schedule on financial aid this year. Either way, some more people should have some good news this week.
