If that were the case, why are there so many people who are still under review? If they were really full, wouldn't they just waitlist/reject everyone relatively quickly, with just a pure numbers formula to determine who gets false hope and who doesn't?

are you aware of the UVA tradition of streaking the lawn? I wonder if there's a comparable UVA Law tradition... like mooning the admissions committee.

Complete 11/16. I'm still standing.

I keep going back and forth on whether I should sent in a LOCI. There is a chance that I would decide to attend UVA, but it's perhaps a 5% chance. I would feel guilty about sending them an enthusiastic LOCI, getting accepted, and then rejecting them.

I'd send them a LOCI if there is any chance at all that you might attend. If you get accepted and then reject them, all that happens is that someone else on the huge WL gets a spot.

UVA, even though there was a lot of snow when I visited, I really liked you. A lot. :(

Complete 11/23, no decision yet. I'm sort of surprised.

They may be waiting to see whether you withdraw before they go to the trouble of YP'ing you.

I went complete around the same date. Under review since mid-January. I'm wondering how many spots they can possibly have left.

Could you explain the difference between "complete" and "under review" on your status checker? Other UVA applicants have found only one status of "File Complete, Pending Review / Decision."

I think he's referring to a status checker update where the date changed. I was originally complete pending review/decision in early January and then the date changed in middle February.

By complete I mean when the school sends you an email letting you know they have received your application. I believe they send you the status checker username/password in that same email. That happened for me back in November. Then, in mid-January, my status checker updated to the "file complete, pending review/decision" thing.

+1 on the surprise at the no-decision-yet November date (11/12 here). It looks like on LSN I'm the only candidate in my numbers range without a decision that applied before New Year's. I figure that's a good thing since everyone else has been dinged or waitlisted. Guess I'm just getting a little bored of waiting after about four months...

I went complete on 12/9 and we have pretty similar numbers, a couple points difference on the LSAT. I haven't heard anything, besides the update on 2/23 that I'm Pending Review or whatever it updates to. Weird.

Went complete today. How many months do you think I would have to wait before hearing anything? I wonder if I am going straight to WL.

DING! First Ding of the cycle. Oh, well. I didn't have a 3.85 or above GPA, so it's not like I had a shot. I did like how they didn't even make an effort in the rejection letter. A lot of people applied, you weren't good enough, this email is it, we'll never talk to you again.

I'd rather not post it whole, but it wasn't really BAD. It was just so informal, and they were aware of it. Hence, this:

VIRGINIA/TRUJILLO: I hope you excuse the informality of this communication, but I thought you might appreciate speed over formality.

It's a form letter, it's not as if they custom-type it, so it would seem that a bit more of that generic ego-boosting "we like you, we really do, but..." pap should be in order :).

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
