Re: UVA c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
FINALLY WAITLISTED!!! UR1 11/6, UR2 4/6. Will be withdrawing shortly. Wrote a genuine Why UVA, have good numbers, and have gotten into plenty of peer/higher ranked schools so I'm not really sure what was going on here (numbers not high enough to be YP), and UVA was high up on my list at the start. Good luck to everyone else out there still waiting!

At least we thought it was... Until it happened. Past became the unthinkable - it became prologue.mathis1490 wrote:I'll never forget where I was when past became prologue. It was a day just like any other...edditb wrote:Where were you when past became prologue?

Looks like almost half. Biggest WL in T14 with about 8% chance of admit. Godhelpus.jpg

Same boat as above. GPA between 25 and 50, LSAT>75. Waitlisted as early decision applicant. I don't know what the chances of admit off the waitlist are and even then I'm assuming that would be at sticker for almost sure. I know someone a few years ago got some merit aid off the waitlist though. Disheartening.

Also waitlisted in the wave last week. Late app so not too surprised. Not going to ride this one out. Good luck y'all!

Re: UVA c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I was put on the WL a couple of months ago and I sent a LOCI last week. I was always planning on making the trip to visit the campus, though I have been very busy. I finally found the time to go see the campus. I was never offered an interview. Is it acceptable to email Dean Faulk and ask to meet him when I come visit, even if it isn't a formal interview? Or is that frowned upon? I really love the school and want to do whatever I can to best help my chances.

I would do it - I can't see how showing genuine interest in the school could hurt your chances. I don't think it would be frowned upon. UVA Admissions sent out an email some time ago about how they think it's important to visit the law school and how they love meeting applicants.chazzninetythree wrote:I was put on the WL a couple of months ago and I sent a LOCI last week. thanks for your response. I just called a few minutes ago and they offered to schedule a meeting without me bringing it up, so it looks like you're right.a2s8h wrote:I would do it - I can't see how showing genuine interest in the school could hurt your chances. I toured in the past few weeks. I would advise waiting until you're admitted, unless you really feel that you need to demonstrate interest beyond a why UVA, because their stipend will cover most of a trip once you're admitted. If you do decide to tour, I would recommend renting a car (zip car if under 25) so you can properly get a sense of the area. I drove along the blue ridge parkway and did some hiking which was fantastic. Public transport is not really an option. You should also talk to current students outside of formal admission settings and properly explore the school itself (if you're into legal history, there are a ton of cool exhibits and artifacts in random corners of the school!) If you have any specific questions, PM me!SweetTort wrote:Hoping to have my app in on Monday or Tuesday. Just need this score...
