why do summer starters pay almost the same amount of tuition the first summer even though they only take 2 courses?

What are we classifying as a forever complete at this point? 3+ months? I think if its been that long a LOCI is definitely appropriate if you haven't sent one already. I think mine might have helped but who really knows?

Well it's only been two months for me, but I really don't have time to wait another month to send an LOCI because of looming deposit deadlines and such.

Did any other in-state applicants receive a "out-of-state" classification on their financial aid notice? I want to know if this is an everybody problem, or just a problem of mine.

Although i haven't been accepted (WL for now...) i was sent the residency verification form by the admin office right after submitting my app. A mixture of events like being born out of the state and something else factored into it. But it also happened for UG at UMICH. I would call the Admin office to check and make sure it isn't a mistype, since getting the residency verification can take forever. I sent my completed form back in December and they just started reviewing last week. The residency office works through the university as a whole, not the law school. So your app is in queue behind all the undergrads and other grad students.dsn32 wrote:Did any other in-state applicants receive a "out-of-state" classification on their financial aid notice? Just an FYI. If they require you to do the residency form, do so ASAP and ask for a rush, if they will do it.

Because you end of getting a full semester worth of credit-- 12-- out of the summer. Normally doctrinal classes are 4 credits; over the summer, you get 5 credits for each. Additionally, throughout your time at the law school you get to choose how many credits you take per semester, usually between 12 and 16, and you pay the same tuition every semester regardless of how many you're taking.qwertyboard wrote:why do summer starters pay almost the same amount of tuition the first summer even though they only take 2 courses?

Does Wolverine Access financial aid information give you your EFC somewhere? I'm really struggling to find it. Also, would EFC be about the same for every school?

EFC is shown on your FAFSA when you finish. I also believe if you log back into FAFSA, you can see it there.cwid1391 wrote:Does Wolverine Access financial aid information give you your EFC somewhere? I'm really struggling to find it. Also, would EFC be about the same for every school?

Thanks, yeah I just found that. Since FAFSA considers all grad students independents, won't our EFC be 0 unless we have personal wealth ourselves?nsideirish wrote:EFC is shown on your FAFSA when you finish. FWIW, my EFC is listed as 0 and that shouldn't be the case if they took into account my parents income.
