This. My section was assigned chapters but no one actually read them. In the end, how you do in LRW dependsJenDarby wrote:Haha it really depends on your professor. I ended up in the top 3 of my legal writing class and Neumann was very necessary for us. Plain English for lawyers is cheap and we had a couple assignments out of it. Sloan was the only very useless one for me.JCFindley wrote:I have to ask, if these books are still in the shrink wrap, do we really need them?

After much creepin' and google-fu, I have determined the identity of both Gotti and MrSoOoFLy. I'm happy to discuss my methods at AEP on Monday. It's pretty easy to figure out who I am...JenDarby wrote:Stay anonymous, at least for a couple weeks.Gotti wrote: hmmm i can give myself away to you without giving myself away to anyone who doesn't know me....but i might like the creepy aspect of you not knowing...........

Does anyone know when we will receive our class schedule and section or does anyone know when we will receive them? According to the admitted students page the schedules should have been posted at the end of July, but I do not see it on my.fordham. If you do see your schedule, could you tell me where you looked?

The schedules came out last week.Pygmaeus wrote:Does anyone know when we will receive our class schedule and section or does anyone know when we will receive them? On myfordham, click on student, then on banner.
I forget the name, but the 3rd folder contains your schedule. Look up your legal writing class, the number on there is your section number.
If you got a 9, you're in luck; a 3, not so much

It took me a while to find the class schedule also. Click the student tab, then look in the "My Information" box. Click on the "Student" folder, then the "Registration" folder, and then finally on "Student Detail Schedule"Pygmaeus wrote:Does anyone know when we will receive our class schedule and section or does anyone know when we will receive them? I am in Section 5. I have Ethan Lieb for Contracts. Deborah Denno for Criminal Law. Leslie Cheblie for Legal Writing. And Carl Minzner for Property.
Any 2Ls or 3Ls have any advice on these teachers or possible class outlines?
Do we have any other Section 5ers out there?

Based on the schedule, you should bring a notepad and pen, but I don't think more is needed
There's a "skills development workshop", an IT workshop, lexis/westlaw training, and an introduction to Fordham

I found the schedule on the admitted students site, which I can access from home. I only have to go sit in Chick-Fil-A and use the wireless to get on my.fordham
and BTW 6

Lieb is a giant douche. I didn't have him for contracts but those who have told me he liked to concentrate on the holdings of judges. Which is ridiculous in a contracts class.mja330 wrote:

Minzner is a GREAT guy and you will learn a lot. He's a great professor to start your first semester because his teaching method is very cognizant of it.
ETA: as for class outlines, I recommend you join a student society on westlaw- TWEN. LALSA always has a lot of outlines to offer.

My best advice: wear what you would wear on any given day. Most my friends wore jeans. Don't be the guy in the suit, seriously.dingbat wrote:Be in the Pope auditorium by 9.JCFindley wrote:Hey, I can't get on myFordham from my house, something to do with satellite internet. TBH, I wear suits at job interviews and funerals and that is about it until I have a job that requires such things.
Basically, the CEO of Chic-Fil-A does not think gays should be allowed to marry. That is really the extent of the anti gay rhetoric. Personally, I think ANYONE that wants to be married should be allowed to do it. That way they too can be subject to a five year long divorce that will break them mentally, physically and financially along with the rest of us. I also believe that the CEO has a right to his religious beliefs as well though and so long as he does not discriminate it is nothing more than his view and personal value system.
I will start boycotting their free wireless internet, delicious chicken and best sweet tea on the planet as soon as I move to NYC.

Unless of course you believe the conspiracy theory that they introduced it specifically to make old coke more desired and increase sagging market share in the long term. Which it did both when the old coke came back regardless if it was intentional or not. Thus, the reference to unintentional marketing.dingbat wrote:New Coke was an unmitigated disaster and is taught in business schools as an example if what not to doJCFindley wrote:New Coke Baby!dingbat wrote:I don't want to derail the thread, but the CEO's statement was an inadvertently brilliant marketing move
