You applied to only two schools?
Yeah, I have kind of a weird plan. If I don't get in this year, I will open it up to other schools next year. I'm serving with AmeriCorps and have a relatively late end date that precludes attending most other T14 schools. Plus I wouldn't want to defer cuz then I'd lose scholarship $. S and H are the only schools I'd feel comfortable about attending base don 0 to very little $.
I was going to apply to only HYS but I didn't have the balls, really. I had entirely different career plans if I didn't get into one. Luckily, I got into H. I should have stuck to my original plan. Why didn't you apply to Y? Your numbers make you competitive, I think.
Nah, thanks for the compliment, but I don't think I'm getting into Y. If H or S doesn't happen, I'll just do a broader cycle next year. Congrats on getting in, btw, happy for ya bruh

Held this morning also. Like others have said, it really looks like some great candidates are being held so I'm definitely going to stay optimistic. I guess it doesn't hurt to be t6 secure already either...

Wow, a lot of holds since last week and not a single KB1.

Did anyone who's been held submit after 12/1?

Uh. I think a rejection is headed my way seeing I wasn't held with this last wave which is basically all people with superb numbers.

Thank you Harvard for holding majority of your app pool. I feel like holding people is KB's signature move. The way this is going we should all just move over to the held forum and ignore this one. I mean it feels like the whole of tls was held.

Same. Well, more mid-Nov. UR on status checker 11/28 I think, Complete email 12/8. No movement since.

Haha, I appreciate the response. I'm straight outta undergrad, which may be working against me. I'm glad to still be in the running!

Hopefully not the finishing move. I guess in terms of maximizing the incoming class it would make sense to hold everyone who isn't an auto-accept or auto-reject until you've gotten all of the applications for the cycle, right?

That would certainly make sense (unless they have some policy whereby all holds need to be reviewed by X people, in which case marginal candidates would just needlessly multiply work), but it hasn't been the case thus far.
People with really good numbers who are 2/2 at NYU and Chi have been rejected outright!

I don't remember hearing about any KB1s coming last week at all...

Hey, I'm just here to join the "On Hold" club. Numbers in profile. I'm just out of undergrad, FWIW. I'm not really upset - good luck to the rest of y'all.

So I looked at last years thread and it is possible (low probability) that someone held could be in the next wave of kb1s. One or two people reported getting kb1s 3 days after they were held. Hopefully this happens again this week or so.

Wow, nice work digging that up.
Now I have something to be overly optimistic about for the next few days!!!

Late applier here (2nd Jan 2012); still not UR or complete on HLS status checker yet. I'm a true international and K-JD, so definitely not getting my hopes up.

It seems the holds are done for now? At least in the previous day, some people had already gotten the emails by 11am...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
