are you getting the red text, or some other error screen? if the former, then it might not be good news. hopefully i'm wrong, or it's the latter.

Has anyone who got the courtesy/hold email gotten admitted/rejected since?
bump? I'm guessing by the lack of responses that no one has? I guess we really are on hold for the time being.

Does anyone know how Michigan chooses to award Dean's Scholarships? My numbers are the same as crackberry's (and I have good softs like him, too) and I'm wondering if I can also look forward to a $45,000 scholarship.

Just got a letter for a dean's scholarship of $30,000 over three years. I'm amazed.

I have no idea, but the scholarship letter does say the Dean's Scholarships are awarded based on "academic excellence" and "leadership potential" or something along those lines (I don't have the letter on me). That's often stock language that doesn't actually mean anything, but who knows.
Good luck!

I think it's likely. Most admits with similar numbers on LSN last year received the $45k, and crackberry and one other with similar numbers this year have reported it thus far.
I really need to stop thinking about this. I suppose it's better than plotting to kill my damn neighbors, anyway.

As always, crack, gotta visit (which I will be doing in Feb). And it's a moot point unless Michigan accepts me, haha.
And no, haven't read his post...off to search!

Third post down the page. Also check out tinman's perspective on Hamilton vs. YLS (a decision he made last year, eventually picking YLS), which is farther down the page.

Got it, thanks crackberry! Don't think I'll have to end up making that choice, though, haha.

Just saw that my status was at "Decision" and logged into the Admitted Students site! My first T14 acceptance...feels pretty good.

Congrats!
With your acceptance, I'm practically the last 169, 3.6-3.7 on LSN without a Michigan acceptance AND I was the first to apply (by 10+ days). I'm beginning to wonder why they hopped over me to you guys.

Does michigan pay for some admitted students to attend the "admitted student visit weekends" (<- correct term?)
and if so would that be in your packet or do you have to ask?

I'm 169 3.6-3.7 too. Michigan's my top choice and the lack of a decision is driving me nuts!

Your LSN page says 168, which must by why you didn't come up in my LSN search. Did you write a "Why Michigan?" I didn't, but after getting their email last week telling us not to worry that it's taking so long to get a decision, I'm going to submit one in the next couple of days.
Your LSN page also doesn't list an application to Michigan... When did you apply?

Yeah, I changed my numbers a little on LSN. I applied 11/6 and did write a Why Michigan. I also got the email and I was thinking about sending in more information... but there's really nothing else I can send. I can't help but feel I must've screwed something up on my application.. why doesn't Michigan like me..?

Only for Darrow recipients. It would be in your Darrow notification, not in your regular packet...

I applied a couple days before that, but alas, nothing yet. I agree with you, not much you can do unless you didn't make clear in your WM that you would attend if accepted. I'm holding out hope that my updated transcript (a whopping .02 increase in UGPA and .01 LSDAS GPA) will make the difference.
...To get off on a bit of a tangent, do you know what they consider as more important: UGPA or LSDAS GPA?
