Surprised but I just got an interview request. Does anyone know how they choose candidates to interview instead of just accepting/reserve/rejecting them? Anyone have any advice?

No idea how they decide who to interview and who to accept without interviewing at this stage. Guessing it's either yield-protect or because they feel uncertain about something in your app (or both). I imagine they have very few spots left so they're scrutinizing everyone as much as possible before making any more offers.marshal26 wrote:+1leslie-knope wrote:Surprised but I just got an interview request. As for advice, I guess just convince them that you would attend if admitted. One question I've heard asked in a Cornell interview is "what other schools have you been admitted to?" So there's definitely a YP element for at least some candidates.
If you want general, non-Cornell-specific skype interview advice, you could read this thread.

I cannot afford to go to ASWs without knowing what finaid looks like. I'm going to be booking and changing stuff until the last minute.

Now that Michigan is out for me, I want Cornell even more. This wait is going to kill me.

Anyone who sent a LOCI got an email confirmation that it was received and forwarded to the commission?

2nd status update for me today. received 1/14-->complete 2/19-->update 1 3/13. would really like to get a decision by the end of the week, even though my hands are probably tied if they don't release finaid before the schools who have actually committed money to me want a decision.

how many times does the status checker date typically change before receiving a decision?

After initial complete, you typically go complete 2 more times before a decision.dek88 wrote:how many times does the status checker date typically change before receiving a decision?

guys its been a wild ride but just withdrew my application after the interview invite - realized there are many others here that both desire and deserve the spot much more than me. I wish you all the best of luck and am confident that things will shake out well for those on the thread

UR2 today as well. I am very curious to hear from Cornell as they have a very generous yellow ribbon program that would make the cost of attendance for me almost zero. It might even convince me to leave the big city for Ithaca.dek88 wrote:aahhh just got the second complete today. how long until a decision is posted/emailed?SteelPenguin wrote:After initial complete, you typically go complete 2 more times before a decision.dek88 wrote:how many times does the status checker date typically change before receiving a decision?
