Thanks. It's the only T-14 that took me but all it takes is one yo!DaRascal wrote:I don't have great options right now but I'm in at some ok places. It hurts but I just didn't get it done on the LSAT so I can't be too shocked but I'll stay on reserve with no expectations. I should probably sell out to get off the Mich WL.danitt wrote:Are you in anywhere?DaRascal wrote:Placed on reserve. Starting to think law school just isn't for me.
Btw, congrats on UVA. Saw that in your LSN!

II was also placed on reserve, which means I struck out with the T14. Well, it was worth a shot, and I don't regret it. I wish I had decided to apply to law school sooner/taken the LSAT earlier, but other than that I am happy with my cycle results.

Sorry for the people placed on reserve! Does anyone know when they start releasing financial aid offers though?

At this rate? Never.
Maybe late March. Maybe April.

I got the same. Is this considered the "UR1?"CaptainLeela wrote:Anyone else just get an email "just to check in" and that they "hope to reach your file in the coming weeks"? I have a vague recollection of this type of correspondence being discussed before..

UR1 is usually when your status checker updates. They've been sending out this email quite a bit this cycle, probably just to give people who've been waiting a while a heads up. Good luck guys!JXander wrote:I got the same. I got the email in the last round they sent it. Wondering if they'll send it to me again...CaptainLeela wrote:Thanks. I wrote a pretty thorough and enthusiastic "Why Cornell," but any thoughts on a brief (few sentences) "Still really excited about you!" type follow-up in response to this email?ph5354a wrote:UR1 is usually when your status checker updates. And yea, my status checker has updated twice since my complete date
My complete date hasn't changed since the first time and its still 1/18

Which is why I think I have a long way to go....

Has anyone heard anything on Merit Scholarships, except for the Dean Scholly? I thought they would start coming out by the end of this week.

Application is still not complete - verifying materials for completion. Did most people hear back already?

It's for yield protection purposes. They don't think you'll actually attend and I tend to agree with them given your other offers/openly stated preferences. But if you can convince them they will probably offer you a full ride, so there's that.az21833 wrote:interview request today? wut? didnt even know cornell interviewed. anybody else go through this / what was it like?

Still sitting at verifying, since 2/1. Super frustrating.
Why even take applications past January 1st if people who apply after that don't even really get consideration?
I really wanted to go to Cornell, but for a variety of reasons I didn't know I'd be applying to law school until January. I guess I'm just bummed out and venting. Cornell seems like a super long shot at this point.
I'm still hoping for Cornell or Michigan, and at least I'm farther along in the process with Michigan.

I'm in the same boat. Applied late to every school, and my T14 decisions so far are a wait list and reject from 2 schools that have accepted people with lower numbers and >50% on LSP. But don't give up hope, and worst comes to worse take LSAT again and be the first to apply next cycle.GWarren wrote:Still sitting at verifying, since 2/1. Super frustrating.

I applied to all the t-14, minus UVA. Rejected at NYU and UC Berke thus far. Waitlisted at Georgetown.jvincent11 wrote:I'm in the same boat. I also applied to some sub-14. My torment is that Emory accepted me with a 84k Scholarship. I should be happy, I guess, but I still think I can do better and I don't know if I want to settle -- but it is hard to put everything off another year when I have a fairly viable option now.
Are you going through a similar struggle? I would love to commiserate! My roommates are going nuts with my droning on about this. Haha.

Congrats. I am super jealous. I wish I would have been faster on the draw but I had to wait for letters. I am just super negative about Cornell for this cycle since they seem to be waitlisting everyone, according to LSN.Big Dog wrote:Applied ~Jan 10 (can't remember exact date) and was accepted few weeks ago.....so there is hope. Why even take applications past January 1st if people who apply after that don't even really get consideration?

Got an interview request today. Surely it's not for YP purposes. Seems kind of late in the game for me.

Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Just got an email from Cornell (on Saturday???) Saying that file is complete (yay!!! Only two months later!)
Bad news, I should receive a decision mid-to-late April....
Seriously? Deposit deadlines at half of all law schools is April 15th...
Welp, looks like I'll (hopefully) be wasting money on a deposit somewhere.
