Yep the one basically asking us the same questions they've already asked a couple times.J_stack wrote:Any other scholarship "alternates" get that interest email today?

They sent that email about an hour after I sent them basically exactly what they asked for in the email. I sent it all to them again. Maybe it will stick the second time.turn left wrote:Yep the one basically asking us the same questions they've already asked a couple times.J_stack wrote:Any other scholarship "alternates" get that interest email today?
Out of curiosity, are y'all going to keep playing their game? I know I got tired of getting jerked around after just 2 rounds of emails back and forth.TripTrip wrote:They sent that email about an hour after I sent them basically exactly what they asked for in the email. I, for one, think that answering this stupid question twice is enough. I am on the fence between withdrawing my application in response to this email, or simply informing them that I have no intention of answering this question a third time.jym_dawg wrote: Out of curiosity, are y'all going to keep playing their game? I agree. I haven't felt the same outrage that I think a lot of people felt going through this process, but I guess I was also just niave at the start of this cycle and was really surprised at my acceptances (let alone scholarship offers), so I've just been pleasantly surprised the whole way through. If gtown wants me to send them 5 billion emails and will give me 35k/year in exchange, I'll do it. And if they end up saying lol, jk you get $0, eh. Wasted approx 10 min of my life. I'll get over it.TripTrip wrote:The first time they sent the "no scholarship at this time" email I about withdrew with a heated email. I still feel like I'm being played, but there's bound to be some free dollars after yesterday so I'm willing to take another stab at it. Big picture, it's not that much work to send another email.
But don't forget, GU accepted a bunch more folks (last month) on whom they have still yet to process merit money applications.there's bound to be some free dollars after yesterday
Honestly, I don't think the email I sent back today was very nice. I was nice and sincere before though and got nothing so maybe being sort of a dick will actually get me money. Getting asked to supply the same information repeatedly over a couple of months will do that to you though.TripTrip wrote:The first time they sent the "no scholarship at this time" email I about withdrew with a heated email. I can see that. I have had weird luck in that both times they've asked for an update, I've had a new sweet award to tell them about. This time I also sent over my other scholarship offers and said I'd need to see something comparable to consider attending, in a nice way.turn left wrote:Honestly, I don't think the email I sent back today was very nice. Are you asking them to match your UCLA offer? Or are you using NU's higher ranking as leverage? I have sizable Duke and Cornell offers but they're not close to full scholarship, which is what it would take for Georgetown to win me over. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to send GTown my concrete offers or just wait for GTown to make an offer first?TripTrip wrote: I can see that. Thanks for sharing and for your advice! I'll wait it out and see what they offer first.TripTrip wrote:swordking90 wrote:TripTrip wrote:
That's the paragraph I sent re: other scholarships. However, my situation was a little different. It's possible they thought they would be competing with a Hamilton, Ruby, or Levy when I said "other full tuition scholarships" in the first email based on my numbers, so I wanted to clarify that, on a full ride, Gtown would be comparable.
In your situation, I would probably just wait and see. You don't want them to lowball because they think they can get away with it.

How did you hear to expect a decision in 10 days?

I was told that they hope to have decisions for everyone who was complete prior to 3/1 by the 15th.mehh wrote:nba101790 wrote:Spoke with the admissions office.mehh wrote:nba101790 wrote:Updated to 4/3 today and was told to expect a decision in the next 10 days.
