It's depends on when you get to school. The parking pass is $100 for the year. If you're in around 9, or are coming in lunchtime, then you shouldn't have a problem getting a spot in the lot near the law school. Otherwise, there's a big lot/garage near the stadium. It'll take about 5 minutes to walk to the law school from there. Or, you can stalk the lot near the law school to wait for people to leave. I'm not sure what the situation is like in the surrounding area.

That lot is usually full by 9-9:30 Monday-Thursday.

100$ for the year??? holy cow that's nothing!

Guys- I really think I'm turning down Fordham for St. Johns, the more and more I hear, the more and more I like.

Does anyone have any clue why St. J jumped so many spots in the rankings and if it's projected to continue climbing the rankings or was this just a fluke?

I guess it depends what you want. If you 100% want biglaw, I'd go to Fordham. Otherwise, SJU for free is a great option.

In your opinion, what percent of the class at SJU gets into biglaw?

Don't have any regrets in your life. I turned down Columbia in my undergrad for a non-ivy league school with scholarship, and I did so because I had to pay for it and I was poor (at the time). Regretting till today. Fordham is a better school. Do it if you have no other commitments in your life.

5%-10%, probably closer to 5% ITE.

Does anybody in the University have a reason for why St. J jumped up so many spots in the rankings and whether this will continue in coming years or not likely?

my best guess would be that ITE many students with higher numbers are choosing the debt averse route and taking advantage of the big money scholarships that st. john's has been offering, thus raising st. johns' medians.

Waitlisted as well. PT isn't an option for me as I am out of state. Still holding out hope for FT though.

where is everyone planning on living (off-campus)? right in jamaica or the surrounding neighborhoods? a little further from campus but still in queens or on long island?

Why is the deposit for St Johns so high? Youd think it was an elite school or something. Do any other schools have deposits over $400?

I dont even think its applicable to tuition either, its basically just a fee.

My acceptance letter very clearly states that the deposits are applicable to tuition. This applies both for the seat deposit and the 2nd deposit, with only the seat deposit non-refundable if you later choose not to go.
