Well, I think the best theory is that we're all full-ride scholars.

And my decision mailed from Vanderbilt is an acceptance :) For some reason I feel I'm going to get less than the average person with my numbers because I am addicted to taking the LSAT again and again (three times total).

Before the last couple of weeks I was fairly certain I would take UNC over Wake, now it will probably come down to cost (if I even get the choice).

That would be so nice. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up that high.

+1

but the thing is, paying only 1/3 tuition is like going to most state schools (at least UGA and UNC) in-state.
Definitely.

I got the 1/7 mailing from Vanderbilt too. I'm nearly certain it will be a rejection.

Decision Status: Admitted Scholar
Decision Status Date: 1/7/2010

3.9 & 166.

I have no theory about the change in the status check but I am really hoping for a comprehensive scholarship, so I can attend.

Decision Status: Congratulations!
Decision Status Date: 12/18/2009

What's this "admitted scholar" stuff. Is that your current status? I don't have that.

So no one has received word about merit scholarships yet?

the "admitted scholar" is the new "decision status" that some got on 1/7 or 1/8.

aparently, based on last cycle, ppl get the "admitted sholar" status right before they recieve some type of merit scholly. We expect that the first round of scholly info will go out next week. if you didn;t get the new status, it doesn;t mean you get not $$$, but that you will probably have to wait a bit.

keep in mind, all this info is what i have gathered from following this thread like my dog follows cheese, bread, or anything soft, moving, or bite sized.
I like the theory, :D ntzsch can you post a picture of your dog?

Ever the optimist, I am choosing to operate under the assumption that Wake has simply not finished finalizing its first round of scholarships and that I will get this update on Monday.

I wouldn't worry, with your LSAT you should get something, if not more than us. Most of us are within a point of 165.

Do my numbers hold any chance of a scholarship offer? I'm not too familiar with Wake's numbers

Yeah I'm not sweating it yet. I'm not too confident that my LSAT is high enough to make up for my GPA, but we will see.

One thing came to mind, when did all you scholarly folks go complete. Earlier than 11/20 all around would be nice to hear.

FWIW, as far as rankings are concerned, giving a 170/2.0 a scholly is just as helpful to rankings as giving a 165/3.5 a scholly (assuming matriculation) and vice versa. All that matters is medians. in both cases, median lsat is brought up and GPA is not.

and , iwent complete mid Nov, before the 20th tho.
It appears some schools also like to keep their 25th/75th numbers up also in case US NEWS switches back to it's old formula (average 25/75th for the median instead of the actual median). We saw how their last minute change to include PT numbers screwed a couple schools last year and has caused some schools to drop them entirely this year. I actually read an article that had Ms. Nutt in it, she used a sports anagolgy regarding scholarships. Something like if you sign with the Yankees you won't get a signing bonus, but if you sign with the Mudd Cats you will get a signing bonus. Essentially their trying to get people to give up a better team and take a chance on them.
