Held today at FSU. Very surprised. Notified via status checker. "Applications the admissions committee wants to continue to consider in the future are placed in the HOLD category. Please note that our HOLD category is not our waitlist."

Schedule a campus visit with admissions, etc. Show interest and they will prob take you off the HELD category for review/admit.

This school was a safety for me, I am honestly surprised to be waitlisted at FSU.

I was put on hold it was safety for me too. Honestly surprised. I only applied in case I didn't get into UF. I did not expect to be admitted at UF so quick then not be from FSU, shocker.. anyway I'm withdrawing my app.

Held as well today, and my buddy got held today also. Another guy at my work went to decision made. My status went from just complete to held. The one who went to decision made went into review this past friday.

FSU is allegedly cutting this year's class size by about 50. Maybe that's why so many people are being placed on hold?

Well, I had a meeting with the Asst. Dean of Admissions last Wednesday and got put on HOLD today. 161/3.37. During the meeting, she predicted I would be be put on hold. So at least for some of us they're going to put you on hold with or without a meeting, but as far being taken OFF hold after a meeting? I don't know. I just know of people getting INITAL decisions like rejected/hold/waitlist/accepted after a meeting or tour. Would it hurt you to go on a tour and speak with admissions? Certainly not.

An FSU 1L who has a friend in admissions told me that they are aiming to have a class of about 200 people this year, which is about 50 less seats than the previous year (she has 249 people in her class).
