I'm a newbie and I'm glad I found this site. Last week, I received an email and logged into the Miami website and it said I was accepted. It was a three week turn around, so it caught me off guard. I just wanted to confirm others had received the same message and it wasn't a bad joke. I'm glad to have this in my back pocket before I heard from anybody else

When I got back from inauguration, I had a postcard in the mail dated 1/15 saying I was missing a second letter of recommendation. Checked LSAC, and they sent it to Miami on 1/21. Looked at my status checker and it said I was accepted.

First school to hear from, first acceptance. Hopefully some $$$ will follow.

For those who received a scholarship, how long did it take for people to hear about scholarship information? I sent out my app 1/4 and was accepted on 1/15 but it didn't say anything about scholarships. With my numbers (162/3.5) I was expecting to be eligible for the 69k scholarship but there was nothing on the status checker website and the package didn't specify much

I think it takes something like 2-3 weeks. I think you should stand a good chance at the scholly offer assuming that applying later didn't hurt you on being offered money.

After not hearing about $$ for two weeks, I called and they told me I got 23k/year. What is the consensus on where a 3.0 falls out in terms of class rank? Also, is it easy to negotiate for more money with them?

I was accepted (via status check) on 1/15 and still haven't received my acceptance package. I also haven't gotten an official acceptance email, either. I know that I'm in, but something more tangible would be nice!

I called. They do not. I thought I read earlier that their March admitted student day was mandatory. Now I can't find that anywhere.

does miami send you an email once your app goes complete and in review there or no?

Miami accepted me three weeks before sending me an acceptance package or sending me any e-mails whatsoever. I found out by creating a profile for myself at https://myum.miami.edu/. A few days after my account was created I logged in and saw a congratulatory message. It's the closest thing UM offers to a status checker. Good luck!

Only some schools have a status check. This is odd, but you'll get an email saying it contains your login information, and when you log in it tells you if you're in or not.

I've never read it. It would pose an issue to me, because I'm going to Germany on March 2nd for my last semester

I went to the myUM and I requested an account and it seems that I am in the system. I logged in and everything and I have access. Does anyone know what this means? The fact that I was in the system with my own Cane Id?

It means you've been accepted. You probably knew that though.
