Checking in! Just submitted by PT tonight, but still waiting on my second recommender to upload to LSAC. Should be in by the end of the week and then the waiting begins

Who gets invited to PT? Is it based exclusively on LSAC index?

Yeah- people were able to successfully solicit earlier in the cycle but now it seems like they're not giving PT to anyone who didn't receive it automatically, probably because they're swamped by September takers right now.sadieshadow wrote:Who gets invited to PT? Even if I have PT, the application isn't complete (so I won't get a decision) until my December score comes back, right? Or is it different for PT applicants?

Re: Duke c/o 2021 Applicants (2017/18)
I solicited a PT invite from Duke today. The request is under review by admissions director.
I asked for it based on my active duty military service. I don't have Duke numbers (3.48, 165) but I think $35 is worth it to have my first soul crushing rejection in just ten days. What can I say, I'm a masochist.
Will update whether I receive the invite or not, you know... for posterity or whatever.

Gunning for you. I'm also considering emailing them, but don't have the numbers usually seen for PT. If you have any luck, I'll follow suit lol.ddevich wrote:I solicited a PT invite from Duke today. The request is under review by admissions director.

I'm RD and it took me 13 days to go complete. That said, looking through last year's thread, Duke is super random and sometimes took months for ppl to be UR for last cycle.

Whoops sorry just realized I misspoke. I meant it took me 13 days to go UR. I went complete the day after I submitted.

Re: Duke c/o 2021 Applicants (2017/18)
The director of admissions emailed me today saying that they do not offer fee waivers or priority track invites for military service. I completely understand the priority track invite, but they are the only school I've solicited for a fee waiver that has denied it. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel entitled to it or anything, but they are the first one out of 20 or so schools I've solicited to say no.ddevich wrote:I solicited a PT invite from Duke today. It just feels...weird I guess. The email was ice cold as well. I don't actually have Duke numbers anyway, so I'm going to sit this one out.

Re: Duke c/o 2021 Applicants (2017/18)
Its probably a combination of it getting later in the cycle and you just clearly not having the numbers, military service or not. Why should Duke waste a PT invite when your chances are 0%? Best of luck in the future though!ddevich wrote:The director of admissions emailed me today saying that they do not offer fee waivers or priority track invites for military service. As far as some optimism, I had similar numbers, applied ED, got denied. I decided to retake, got a 175+ with a very similar GPA, now Duke is paying for my legal education here. You can always retake and change your life.

Re: Duke c/o 2021 Applicants (2017/18)
I agree with your assessment. Unfortunately, retaking for this cycle is just not in the cards. With my transition coming fairly soon and the work cycle leading up to it being jam packed, I just don't want to add another thing to think about. The LSAT consumed my life for like three months the last time lol.
I've got good prospects for several schools that I'd be very happy going to, and well, it'll be essentially free no matter where I go. That's a huge advantage that I'm very lucky to have. Notre Dame, Fordham, BC, and BU are all probably near locks for me. I'm shooting for the moon with a few schools that I should have no decent shot at, but I'm hoping that my strong PS, DS, and military service may make up for a number shortage. I don't expect any of them to honestly, but for $35 a pop, it's worth a shot just to say that I tried.
Who knows, maybe the stars will align?

Did you ever see this on your application status checker? I'm PT with a fee waiver, it's day 10, and when I check application status it says: "Info required; watch for email"?KENYADIGG1T wrote:Got in at Duke! PT, answer on day 9.

I was in yesterday as well (via PT), but right now my status check still shows "Decision made; watch for email". So I don't think the status check changes to "Admitted" at this point.fulbrightinmexico wrote:Did you ever see this on your application status checker?
