+1. I applied for the Gates Scholarship and wrote the supplemental stuff, so I have already sent them a total of four essays and a letter. I'm running out of material...amta wrote:STILL HAVEN'T WRITTEN SCHOLARSHIP ESSAYS!!!

You got this, connordalto. When I was writing my merit $cholly essay, my mantra was "its only 500 words". Goodluck, godspeed!connordalto wrote:Today is the day I will finish my scholly essays for UW... I said three days ago

Thanks for the support haha, today will be the day.mcmand wrote:You can do it, connordalto; just sit down, give yourself a strict time limit, deny yourself a luxury or privilege you want, and bust it out. Plus I have an irrational fear that they've already been making decisions and there wont be any money left (though I dont think this is the case at all).

I told them my contribution would be telling undergrads that it is illegal to sit in the cherry blossom trees in the quad and then yelling random statutes at them until they leave. (This has surprisingly been a top priority for campus security the last few years)connordalto wrote:Today is the day I will finish my scholly essays for UW... I said three days ago
I expect to receive my full tuition scholarship by the end of the month.

YES I think they will be. Here is a link to the most recent cherry blossom watch: http://www.washington.edu/news/2017/03/ ... atch-2017/connordalto wrote:I'm sure... plus a housing stipend and a $50k bonus cause why not?chandhi wrote:I told them my contribution would be telling undergrads that it is illegal to sit in the cherry blossom trees in the quad and then yelling random statutes at them until they leave. Anybody else get an email about financial aid? I'm trying to see my award but I don't know how to get a UW NetID. Anyone know?
ETA: Looks like I'm going to have to call the admissions office tomorrow morning to get that info. Not sure why they wouldn't just let us know in the email...

I only received an acknowledgement of 'late application' because I got my FAFSA filled out and sent after their priority deadline.

That's disappointing. Did your email also say they were happy to extend an offer of financial assistance at the beginning?BobBoblaw wrote:I only received an acknowledgement of 'late application' because I got my FAFSA filled out and sent after their priority deadline.

Nope. I suspect these emails are concerning only our FAFSA-based financial aid from UW, not any additional grants or scholarships from UW Law. I guess we will see tomorrow.

Yeah I guess we'll find out tomorrow one way or the other. Usually I think schools include grants in the initial financial aid award letter. UW may do things differently though.BobBoblaw wrote:PDX4343 wrote:That's disappointing. Okay so same but I was looking around. You've got to call the Registration Office at 206.543.8580 to get a Private Access Code, then you can use that along with your Student ID (should be in most emails you get from UW Admissions) to register for a UW ID at https://uwnetid.washington.edu/newid/. THEN you follow the instructions in the financial aid award email. Quite the process....PDX4343 wrote: Looks like I'm going to have to call the admissions office tomorrow morning to get that info. Thanks for this, I was super confused on where to get the private access code.
This is weird to me, I also submitted after the deadline but I got the notification that mine was ready. Maybe it was more of a soft deadline.BobBoblaw wrote:I only received an acknowledgement of 'late application' because I got my FAFSA filled out and sent after their priority deadline.

I checked and unfortunately it's not. You actually have to call in to the registration office to get the information you need to set up the UW NetID. Pretty stupid system.Tomthecat wrote:I don't see any information about uw netid in the emails. I wonder if it is in the admission package. Ahhh, so wanna know what it is about
