Don't worry I went complete on the same day and I've heard nothing, above 25th GPA, below 25th LSAT, and OOS.courtleigh24 wrote:Went complete 12/4 and still nothing. Above 75th LSAT, 50-75th GPA, in-state. Kinda getting worried..

Is there a significant difference in state or OOS as far as admission to the law school is concerned? Went to undergrad in Los Angeles if that counts for anything but I'm applying from OOS.

You definitely have the numbers. Did you write a Why UCLA?Tempo wrote:Waitlisted as well. 171, 3.7, OOS. I'm really disappointed, this was one of my top schools, and I thought my numbers were good enough to get in.

I read somewhere that for UCLA specifically there should be no difference. And that the reason for the higher proportion of in-state students is that there are more californian applicants (+ attend to stay in California). But I definitely could be wrong.cub1014 wrote:Is there a significant difference in state or OOS as far as admission to the law school is concerned? Wait listed this morning. Not particularly surprising, I was a pretty obvious yield protect candidate. I love the idea of living in LA, but I've never actually done it before, so I asked to be removed from the wait list so I don't take someone else's spot.

Nope, I didn't write a why X for anyone. Which was a huge mistake I've learned. So, I guess I'll just have to roll with that fuck-up.cc1012 wrote:You definitely have the numbers. Is it really a big deal if you do not write a Why X but do write a programmatic contribution? Will this significantly hurt your application?

Yay, I'm waistlisted! I didn't even think I had a shot. Below the median on my GPA and LSAT.

I wrote the programmatic contribution essay and no why x essay. I was admitted within two weeks of my submission (25<LSAT>50; 75<GPA).JuniorBee2 wrote:Is it really a big deal if you do not write a Why X but do write a programmatic contribution? Will this significantly hurt your application?

If it is one of your top schools I think you could make up for your mess up and fight your way off the waitlist by doing the right things - your numbers are defn goodTempo wrote:Nope, I didn't write a why X for anyone. Why would you bother paying the fee if you're not going to send in a solid application?chickensoup1234 wrote:Waitlisted as well, traditional splitter, sent in a crappy app..

Admitted yesterday - went complete on 12/18. 3.3 gpa/169 lsat (on the second try). Out of school for almost five years with above average softs, out of state and non URM. UCLA is one of my top 5 choices so I'm pumped! Good luck to everyone!

+1 also surprised that you got waitlisted. I think a number of us got in with similar numbers without a "Why UCLA?". If it's one of your top schools then go fight for it! Get off that waitlist!chickensoup1234 wrote:If it is one of your top schools I think you could make up for your mess up and fight your way off the waitlist by doing the right things - your numbers are defn goodTempo wrote:Nope, I didn't write a why X for anyone. Thanks for the motivation! I'm going to visit LA this spring hopefully, so I'll try to meet with an admissions person and let them know that I'm serious.GrumpyYellowOgre wrote:+1 also surprised that you got waitlisted. I went complete on the same day and have very similar stats, but haven't heard anything yet... All this waiting is driving me crazy.suli wrote:Admitted yesterday - went complete on 12/18. 3.3 gpa/169 lsat (on the second try). Yeah any information would be great. Like USC's status checker. Though I haven't had any movement there either...ppt5 wrote:ProductofUnreality wrote:That makes me think it's just random as hell.ppt5 wrote:Similar stats, complete on 12/8, haven't heard anythingProductofUnreality wrote:I went complete on the same day and have very similar stats, but haven't heard anything yet... I've been complete since 11/16 and heard nothing so the struggle is real for times about an extra months worth of anxietyProductofUnreality wrote:Yeah any information would be great. Damn that's rough. Maybe they're prepping us to wait for grades.JuniorBee2 wrote:I've been complete since 11/16 and heard nothing so the struggle is real for times about an extra months worth of anxietyProductofUnreality wrote:Yeah any information would be great.
