Chicago is awesome. The school is ~40 minutes away from downtown by public transit, however.
NU is right downtown though!
Thanks everyone! I definitely appreciate this. I've just about convinced myself to make the journey.
That's great, just a heads up that NU is definitely NOT right downtown, it is just as far, if not further, from downtown as UChicago is.

EDIT: unless they're talking about downtown Evanston

NU actually is right downtown in Streeterville. The undergraduate campus is in Evanston, but the law school is not.

This is flame, the 6 takes 15 minutes after rush hour
I've never had this experience. Maybe 15 minutes once on the bus, but it generally takes ~15 waiting time too. Although you might be timing things better than I haha. I simply just walk to the stop and wait.

Edit - TBF Google Maps has it at 13 minutes right now.

Also - NU is split into two campuses. Law school is directly downtown in the heart of things. If you know where Navy Pier is, or Gotham Central Hospital, you know where NU is. Might want to get that right if you interview at NU .

Hmm, I'd always allocate 40 minutes of travel time to get downtown, but that also included walking from campus to the 6, waiting for it, and getting to wherever I was headed downtown!

Re NU: I did not know that! I just assumed it was all in Evanston. Thanks :)

Cool. You should let me and KMart know when you get to town.
Thanks! Still working on logistics with admissions regarding a visit.
Seriously - I'm always in the Library across from admissions .

Guys, any more info on which questions they've asked in interviews so far, and how around how many questions they ask? Mine is coming up on Tuesday! Very excited, even though we won't hear decisions until January.

Posted a giant list a few pgs back
I remember the list! I was checking to see which questions people were actually asked. Obviously they didn't go through the whole list.

P.S. Really appreciate the list, though. It's super helpful for planning.

The interview scariness is isolated to the interview, I can promise you; you'll have nothing but an awesome, welcoming experience should you visit campus or attend. Don't stress it! For what it's worth, many people in our class reported similar experiences. Keep on keepin' on, folks. If you have an interview upcoming, stay relaxed as best you can in your interview, maintain confidence, and don't be afraid to sell yourself a bit; come across as a team player. that's it.
