It's a small town, people are pretty nice, and it's a good place to be if you don't wanna go out to the city every weekend.HereWeGo! wrote:Hey! So I recently got off the wait list at UC Davis, and I'm wondering whether I should visit or not. They're only giving me a week to decide, and any round-trip flights between now and then are upwards of $630 from Chicago. Should I just call them instead of visiting? Should I even consider Davis at this point? My top options right now are Illinois and Iowa. Thanks!

Just gave up my seat with a 6 figure scholarship to attend a school closer to home. Hopefully someone on the waitlist can benefit from this!

Did anyone get off the waitlist today? I need to know so that I can stop hoping. My gut feeling says that some people heard back today and it is likely the last batch of waitlisted people Davis will approach. No solid reasoning to support this just some deducing knowing what time and how soon after receiving a reconfirm email my friend got off the waitlist in June. Pattern recognition seems to be the only way to figure out what admissions is up to!

Hi there-
I know that most people in this thread have moved on, but I've recently been admitted to UC Davis clas of 2019. It is my first choice, but I'm playing the financial aid waiting game now. Does anyone who has gone through the process have any insight as to whether I can expect to receive any type of merit aid if I fall between the 25th and 50% percentile on both LSAT and GPA? thanks.

You're better off asking in the 2019 thread.

Thanks for the response, I hope I'm not breaching board etiquette by bumping an old thread.lizzielemon wrote:Kaybay wrote:Hi there-

I don't think any 2019 applicants have received anything yet. I was asking here because everyone has received their aid and I was hoping to get some insight from last year's group. Actually, I was hoping to get a bunch of responses saying, "I was in your shoes exactly and got a full ride," but I recognize that might be pushing it.

Oh okay. Yeah maybe people won't be around from last year.
Have you tried to look on LSN? People usually post their GPA/LSAT/Scholarship info there so you can search based on your stats and see what others got. Might be helpful?

I had never heard of that site but it was exactly what I wanted to see. Thank you! I wish I knew if people were posting their merit $$$ only or merit and need.lizzielemon wrote:Kaybay wrote:Thanks for the response, I hope I'm not breaching board etiquette by bumping an old thread.lizzielemon wrote:Kaybay wrote:Hi there-

Where do you see it? I was admitted in December, but have received no email alerting me of a scholarship. I tried looking on the Admitted Students site but didn't find anything.zfletch74 wrote:They finally posted financial aid online. Got an email as well.

The numbers there are usually merit-based scholarships only! financial aid comes later
