Re: University of Florida Levin College of Law c/o 2018
Final decision reached, notice issued. If it helps anyone, the date of my status was not updated yesterday. Applied to just UF/FSU, and got accepted to FSU last week. Here's to hoping decision reached means acceptance.
I live in Gainesville, so I'll try to update this with my results once I get the mail, since I'll probably be getting mine sooner than many of you. See you all on the other side of the envelope.

For those waiting to hear about scholarships, I was told that the committee was meeting the middle of this week.

The good news is once you are in you never deal with the admissions process again. I have had a great experience in my first year. Also, in my close group of 6 friends, 3 of us are working for federal judges (me in Miami with another UF 1L, my friends in Orlando and Tampa) this summer. Also, 2 people that sit right behind me are also working for federal judges (both in Tampa) and in both cases, the other summer clerk the judges hired is also at UF, and the guy that sits on my left is working for a federal judge in Ocala.bob311 wrote:Funny you say this. I have had the same experience. I am an instate student and I have already gotten into top-20 schools with a lot of scholarship money without negotiations yet. I called admissions yesterday asking if I have been awarded anything yet and they said no. I was admitted in mid-Jan. They suggested I emailed one of the Dean's with my current offers so far. I haven't heard anything back yet, but I will report when I do. I find it really off-putting how UF has handled everything. It is like they are trying to make me go to a better school out of state, or gasp, even push me to FSU. I have friends who are 1 and 2l's who all had the same experiences with UF.Uschoolqb10 wrote:I think UF's admissions protocol is very different from that of most law schools. They have a separate personal statement (which is annoying lol), extremely long decision making process for most people, and from what I understand, they award scholarships on a rolling basis.
I was admitted in mid-January and have been offered full rides to one peer school and two other schools ranked well above UF, yet I haven't heard anything about scholarship money. I know of some applicants with stats at or above both 75ths for UF who haven't been offered money.
I no get you UF.
The point is, as off-putting as the admissions process was (and I was certainly not pleased with it, especially in comparison to the awesomeness of FSU's process), once you are in and start looking for jobs, you'll be glad you're a Gator.

Initial Review Today. I just wish that UF hadn't been my first application, I refined my skills and each consecutive one was better and better. Fingers crossed. I guess its back to kissing a$$...errr I mean building rapport.

Thank you for posting this!! Yesterday I checked my status checker and it says decision reached. I had told my friends that the decisions would be coming out that day. I looked like a frickib oracle thanks to you!MikeM-law wrote:Next batch is February 24th give or take a day. Then March 10th, then March 24th. Stopped checking after that. So far this year, they have released acceptances at the same times as last year so I think the same will hold true for these dates too.aherm006 wrote:Does anyone know when the next batch of acceptances should go out based on last years cycle? My stats are 158/3.54 and have been in comparative review since 11/24

I got that post card and the acceptance letter the same day, but they were packaged individually, so its very possible if they were separated that the acceptance is still coming, just a bit late.Pink26 wrote:hey guys after a week and a half of status being changed to decision sent I got a post crd from the director of admissions congratulating me but no offical acceptance letter this is super strange since I live in Miami anyone else have this happen

I would think that if they're going to make offers, now would be the time considering many other scholarship offers have acceptance deadlines of April 15th. Come on UF, give us some time to actually make a decision. At the very least they should be disseminating some sort of information on the subject.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
