Didn't mean any harm. We have the Choosing a Law School thread for advice like this. It's actually pretty helpful over. Might be worth it to post your story and see if others in a similar position can offer advice.svx5013 wrote:^ thank god that post didn't ruin the previous page

I'm curious about this tooLawsRUs wrote:Has anyone itt even bothered trying to negotiate their offer up with emory?
I was also curious if anyone knows how it works with putting in the deposit/acceptance of scholarship...like do I have to withdraw other acceptances or risk losing the scholarship? I can't really find this information anywhere.

I tried and got shot down. Maybe later in the cycle and if you have a really compelling case?svs89 wrote:I'm curious about this tooLawsRUs wrote:Has anyone itt even bothered trying to negotiate their offer up with emory?

Did you have higher offers from any other schools that you used as leverage or you just tried regardless?

It wouldn't hurt for you to try, it's different for each person. They told me they would look into it and get back to me.Shelbinole wrote:wow that's super disappointing, especially since i'd actually consider going if they upped my $$ by even 5k a year...Dipper wrote:I tried and got shot down. I did have higher offers from higher ranked schools, but maybe didn't make too compelling of an argument....? I agree that if you REALLY want Emory it's worth trying.svs89 wrote:Dipper wrote:I tried and got shot down. If I recall correctly, you are accepted by NU. Why would you still consider Emory?Shelbinole wrote:Thanks I guess I'll try then. Re: Emory: Class of 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Is anyone considering doing WashU and then Emory?
What's the deal with the campus tour, etc. that they have on Friday during the day. Is anyone planning to attend that?
I'm trying to figure out if I should visit WashU separately or try to cram both schools into a 3-day period, but that seems hectic.
edit: I am referring to the ASWs at the end of March

I know somebody might have asked this already, but how does Emory notify applicants of their decisions?

I havent for sure decided whether Ill go to WashUs ASW but if someone wants to carpool from STL to ATL, Im down to visit both schools. (if theres no carpool, i can only fly into one school) We wld have to leave STL at 5pm on Friday to get to ATL at 1am ish.svs89 wrote:Is anyone considering doing WashU and then Emory?

good Q:ncc1701 wrote:I know somebody might have asked this already, but how does Emory notify applicants of their decisions?
for some, it was email then package in the mail
for others it was usps then a follow up email
for earlier in the cycle some got fedex
in almost all cases scholarship offers were included in the mailing
