It's thanksgiving break.
ah, so it's not automated? i think some schools must have it set up like this as the "application received, here's your status checker" email came almost instantaneously at an hour that i wouldn't expect admissions to be in the office. i assumed this was the case everywhere.
thanks!

lc39's post--

I think this problem may have arisen for you too--just at different stage of application. It's been a week for you since you've sent your application; if it doesn't come until Friday next week or the week after, then try emailing them maybe?

My interview with Raegan Butler went well! She is kind and genuinely interested in your answers, which made the process feel more like a conversation than an interview. All of the questions were on Pulstar's list, so thanks for that!
As some have already mentioned, January for RD decisions. Good luck everyone!

Woohoo! I'm back under review. Now I wait and ponder everything that might have gone wrong in the interview and expect the worst for over a month. Wanting this so bad means hurting so much. Happy Holidays!

had my interview with reagan butler today.. It went okay, lasted 25 min (i know its LONG! good or bad sign?) she asked me for 11-12 questions, i don't remember all but here is a list (pretty much in this order)
Walk me through your academic history, Why [college] and [major]?
Why law?
Why law now?
Why Chicago?
What is your greatest accomplishment?
If you could go back in time and redo one thing in your life, what would it be?
How would your professors describe you?
Have you ever had a time when you were out of your element or comfort zone?
Any points you want me to especially emphasize with the admissions committee?
Do you have any questions for me?
she was very nice and taking notes, english is my third language so I worried that she couldn't understand everything I say (never used Skype before) there are few places where I could express myself better, but it went okay.. (just okay before i second guess everything)
PM for stats or any details, we also touched some other questions that she didn't asked me directly:
What are you looking for in a law school?
Who most influenced your decision to go to law school?
Resume related questions
hope this helps!! now the anxious waiting begin! best of luck to you all!

My Application Under Review status date has changed twice, so I seem to be at UR III. Normal? Still no interview request...

I got that waiver email today too. Did anyone else note how they're pushing the application deadline back to March 1? Apps must be pretty down this cycle.

Basically the same questions for me too! But she added in 'why not law school in your country?' and 'will you want to work in the States after law school'!
It was a very relaxed sort of interview (despite having my interview at 6 am due to time difference) but in my excitement, I think I kinda went repetitive in my answers.. we'll see..

if you hide things in the spreadsheets, it doesn't just hide them for you, it hides them for everybody, and then it messes up the data. PLEASE DON'T HIDE COLUMNS IN THE SPREADSHEETS
(don't mind me just spamming this everywhere bc it's messing up literally every single spreadsheet right now)

Their Twitter page has been silent on the topic of interviews since November 12th. Last year there were lots of tweets about interview invitations all through November and December. FWIW

I think the adcomms from some schools changed their process this year... It's progressing rather slowly in other schools as well

I know all ED decisions are made in December, so perhaps they are busy focusing on those applicants.

Are they following this thread?
We know our feed has been a bit quiet lately. How about this for a Monday surprise--another batch of interview invitations just went out!
Interview invite received- good luck all!

To what extent does UChicago accept without interviews? I know it's not a requirement, but does anyone have an idea on the % that are accepted without an interview? Thanks

I don't have the hard data for you, but I definitely get the sense that you do not want to pass up the opportunity to interview. I can remember an LSN candidate who got in everywhere (going to H, I believe) but was WL at UChi, where she declined the interview.

I think an interview invite is (almost) necessary for an acceptance? ITT (I think it was, might have been a different post) there was a 1L at Chicago who said everyone she/he knows in her class has had an interview!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
