Pure speculation. Plus I'm in the holiday spirit so wishful thinking -- not that it would benefit me since I applied late.james.bungles wrote:Y not. Looks like we'll be waiting til January. From email correspondence:
The Stanford Law School Office of Admissions will be closed Monday, December 22, 2014 to Friday, January 2, 2015 due to the University's holiday shut down . We will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2015 during regular office hours which are from 8AM-12PM and 1PM-5PM PST.

Probably the first time in my life that I'm cursing Christmas falling on a Thursday or Friday in my life.

Yikes, that's just so sad. Imagine being the person who sent this? Probably thinking they were going above and beyond, separating themselves from the rest of the pack, special snowflake, etc. ahahaRaekwon wrote:Waiting sucks but at least you're not this guy:

lol it must have been a generic email the poor chap sent to all the schools he applied to. Feel pretty bad for the special snowflake..90convoy wrote:lol...when being a suck up fails
At least he added in something along the lines of being glad to be considered for a spot at SLS, not HLS or CLS

I hope someone (anyone) gets some good news tomorrow so this thread can get some action.
OP, in anticipation of an eventful week, can we have a new poll?

There's been some personnel turnover in the admissions office, but things should be back to normal soon (those of you who have visited in December may have noticed an empty desk or two).

Help!
I recently got married and would like to stay with my husband in California. Do you think I should email the office to bring this to their attention?

Re: Stanford Law School c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
They might be interested in this for yield purposes. If you have a good application and they would want to accept you, they would feel better about their yield knowing that you are committed to CA and wouldn't go somewhere else (Harvard, Yale, Chicago, etc. if your app is strong). If you could bring it up subtly, it could help you. I did something kind of similar when I visited Stanford and spoke to admissions after getting a go-ahead from Spivey and the law school advisor at my college (who is actually really awesome and helpful).serissa wrote:Help!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
