Checking in! Admitted to UVA on Monday via status checker. Just got my packet in the mail and am ecstatic!

Just curious for those who received scholarship info how long was it between your admittance and that call?

I did. They sent it to the e-mail address listed in my application (which is different from the one in my LSAC profile).
How do I register for this? I clink the link and type in the password, and then there are no other options.
After you enter the password under Registration Information and Type it says "Attending" so...I guess we're attending? I don't see any other options on the page.

I have a cousin that is an LLM candidate at UVA. He and I have spoken about UVA and he (obviously) highly recommends it, so I want to use him in my "Why UVA" essay (particularly because I'm OOS and won't have visited by the time I apply). What's the proper protocol on referencing him? I feel like it may be gauche to name drop, but may be too weird to leave it as an anonymous cousin saying how great UVA is.

He's your cousin and it would be weirder for you to name him than not name him. Name him.

I'm confused. This seems contradictory. I should name him?

There's a place on the app to name relatives at UVA outside of your Why UVA essay.

No interview. Admitted a few days after applying and got the $$$ offer like a week later. I think October applicants who got Dillards were seeing really quick turnarounds

Applied mid September and still no decision. Is this normal? At about 75th for GPA and LSAT.

I'm also sitting in that boat. I'm anticipating a WL/ding at this point.

Ugh. I did update my application with my Sept score so I'm hoping that's what's causing the delay right now. But it seems like there were some people on LSN who had similar numbers and submitted early and got accepted 3 months later so... Maybe it's not too hopeless.

I've also noticed that a lot of the admits interviewed with a different person than I did. Part of me wants to attribute the delay to that. I suspect there's a different reason, though.

Let's try to be optimistic. Riding the cycle is already hard enough.

Oh  haha

I'm hoping to get my apps in within the next several weeks, particularly to UVA. I don't want to finish my cycle early, but I think I would if I got a Dillard. My numbers are borderline CCN, but UVA seems to be a really strong fit and obviously the COA is right if it's with a Dillard (or close to a Dillard). Really nervous that so many people are hearing already and I'm stuck writing my personal statement!!!

Got the Dillard about 3 weeks ago.

Applied on a tuesday.

Interview request the next day.

Interview the next tuesday, accepted the day of the interview.

Scholarship the tuesday after.

So 2 weeks for the whole process

I think it's really interesting (and probably scary) that so many people are getting the Dillards so quickly. Obviously the people on this board represent only a tiny fraction of the total applicant pool, so how many more are out there to be claimed? It seems unlikely that they'd give out every full scholarship by November 1, but...

At least it's great incentive to keep pushing on the remaining parts of my application (PS, Why UVA, etc).

Anyone else just get an email invitation to a dinner in Austin (or elsewhere) next week? I've been on the fence about applying to UVA and this might've just pushed me over.

So, after two other people PMed me, all with good stats and all waiting for a response, I figured it might be worth it to ask...

Has anyone who interviewed with J. Black been admitted yet?
